Potato is an interesting card. It has a nice
Intercept and a great ability. The two things that
could make me hesitate to put this in a deck are its
bulk energy cost (3 energy) and its low Force. Of
course, there are decks that don’t care about the
Force. But it is dangerous against a Bull deck with
lots of punishment for low Force. The bulk energy is
tougher to get around. There are many times that you
aren’t going to want to pay 3 energy to send a 3.
There are sertainly more efficient 6 Intercept
strikes as well. Also, you need two yellow if you
want to use the ability, which is great in the early
game, but certainly doesn’t stack that well.
Ideally, you’ll have a way to boost your yellow
energy. If you can do this consistently, the Potato
can be a Hot strike.
