Lightsaber Deflect

This new Luke seems to be a cult favorite in rebel squads right now around here. For 28 points, you get 80 HP, which isnt too bad. The Defense is also solid at 19. The +11 is actually pretty good for a rebel in this cost range, and the 20 DAM is pretty standard. In the end - solid stats for the cost.

He has the pilot ability. This means he will go good with the original Wedge to gain evade. Although the existence of Wedge and Biggs is practically begging for a Red Leader from SW to give another pilot effect. Demolition charge is pretty pathetic. You have to give up your turn, and then you only have a 25% chance of defeating the mounted weapon character. You then get wailed on by that character.

The force renewal is very good, but standard for this set. The force push 4 is pretty awesome, and deflect can keep him alive longer.

In the end this piece doesn't impress me much. He basically is there for the push. After using that, he doesn't have any real offense. Even though the +11 is good, the single attack wont help you much once you use your push. Also, at 80 HP he will go down pretty fast in today's world. He is a piece to be respected, but not feared, even with all of his friends that he can bring.

100pts: Not a good piece here, he just isn't big enough or does enough damage.
150pts: Here he can make a nice back up piece if you have a forward beat stick like the apprentice or Shaak Ti.
200pts: Here he can be fit into about any squad. His push can be good help, but after that, he is just a basic shooter that wont do much. I think it just comes down to play style. If you run into Thrawn, Vong or stealth, his push is kinda worthless. Try him out and see what you think.
