CE Characters within 6 squares gain force renewal.

This week we are only doing one mini because of the Holiday, so here is Holo Sid.  He is pretty simple and straight form the Sidious play book.  Every single Sidious has manipulated force points in others to some degree or another.  This one is no different.  For 11 pts you get 20 HP and a 20 DEF.  That's it.  Needless to say that is going to take most major figures in the game a single attack to kill it, so dont expect him to be around long.

His CE is pretty cool.  every single character on your squad, barring droids of course, gain force points even if they have none to start with.  Obviously the longer you can keep him safe, the better the effect, but either way, its worth most of your squad having a chance to reroll or move two more squares.  The downside is that you have to stay within 6, which can be hard to do as the fighting picks up.  With only 20HP, as soon as Holo Sid becomes visible, he is gone.  Most games you will get 2-3 force points for your average characters.  The perk to this is also that the characters who gain the force points are still not subject to Jedi hunter and other anti-force user abilities.

His one downside is his single biggest complaint against him.  He is Sith, not separatist.  Most people really think he should of had both factions or at least the separatist only faction.  Rob admitted that it was probably an over sight on his part, but dont look for any type of fix.  He is what he is.  And for 11pts its not half bad.

100pts, 150pts, 200pts:  He gets one mass grouping here.  He is very playable in all three.  You can run him to support your Sith or simply run fringe characters like Aurra, Lando and Boba to give them extra bonuses. Sith-wise, he makes a very nice complement to characters like Scion, Uliq, and Lumiya to give them more room to use their abilities.  Kreia and Juhani would also make a nice adds.  His playability is huge even if his faction is not, so if you get him go with him.  He can really boost a squad for only 11pts.

Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving here in the States, and we will see you on the other side. :D

Darth Sidious Hologram

Faction: Sith

Cost: 11

HP: 20

Defense: 20

Attack: -

Damage: -

SA’s

Unique

CE’s

Allied Characters within 6 squares gain Force Renewal 1

Hmm, here is Darth Sidious Hologram (Holo Sid). He is a well…..A VERY GOOD PIECE!!!

However, why is he a very good piece is it his stats for a low cost?  Heck no Sidious has bad stats even for the cost with 20 health, 20 defense (Actually very good for the cost), But no attack and no damage so that isn’t the reason to play him.  He also has no SA’s besides the Unique ability so that isn’t the reason.  No FP’s at all.

Then we get to his CE which is where he becomes very good. All Allied characters within 6 squares gain Force Renewal 1. I’ll take that anyday. Note it’s only Allies not Allies with a force rating so you could have Boba, BH with force points to spend (I am not sure at this time if it makes them susceptible to Jedi Hunter or not). Imagine the possibilities though they are quite endless. Imagine him with Sion or unlimited EH’s (as long as you can make the save).

His weakness’ aren’t really bad his low health will make it tough to position your guys right and keep him safe but people that have experience with R2 Astro know his to do this.  But Holo Sid really only needs to be around for 2-3 rounds before he is worth it anymore and you’ve got some good force to unleash.  Another is that he doesn’t have affinity for Separatist’s but that really isn’t a weakness just a gripe that people have about him.

100: 3/5 Too much brutality and fast killing for him to really make his mark in this format.

200: 4/5  Truly he makes a mark here with the strategy of this format you can keep him and his team back to gain force then go from there but he is in the sith faction which isn’t quite great yet but getting there so I give him a 4.
