Sith Dragon Leia Skywalker, Jedi Knight (NR)
Cost: 25
HP: 90
DEF: 18
ATK: 9
DAM: 20

Double Attack

F2 FR1
Force Absorb, Force Sense, Lightsaber Throw 2

CE: Allies within 6 can reroll each failed save once.

There are two things i hate about this character. First, There-is-no-Leia-SKYWALKER-in-the-New-Republic! She was married well before the NR was formed. The other thing is where is her frakking Noghri abilities! We need a Leia that has affinity and abilities for Noghri.

Other than that this Leia is pure gold, other than her sculpt looks like a Jaina sculpt. Anyway, we have yet another 25pt NR jedi that is well worth her cost. HP sweet spots like 50, 70, 90 are always good and she hits the high end at 90. Her other stats are not great but are good enough at 25pts.

She has double attack, but you will rarely use it. If she is basing figs to get her double off, she is either the last character you have, or are taking on grunts. She has force renewal, so her force power use will be continous. This is good because she has a nice battery of powers. The biggest of these is her throw two. She can move six, be six away and still get her two attacks off. This is why you wont need her standard double much. That would be good enough, but she also has force absorb. This will be a hard one to use with her because you dont want her basing bigger force users. Where it can help is stopping lightsaber assault or a defelct/lightsaber defense when you are getting ready to tee of on someone. The final power is force sense. It is always handy being able to strip opponents of stealth.

This is more than enough for her 25pts, but she has one of the best CEs the NR could hope for. With evade being extremely popular, she allows you to reroll failed saves, making evade all the more effective. You also have rerolls on blocks, deflects, crab armor, etc. She is well worth her 25pts.

100pts: I dont know that you will find the right mix to use her here. She is severely lacking in power, and her CE will be hard to synergize with only 75pts left.

150/200pts: She is equally powerful in both formats. She is cheap and effective. You cant ask for much more. She isnt quite a must, but its pretty close.

Leia Skywalker, Jedi Knight (30/40, Rare—Jedi Academy; HP 90, DEF 18, ATT 9, DAM 20, DEP 25)

The New Republic keeps getting really good pieces and this version of Leia is no different. You’ll be running her primarily for her Commander Effect which allows allies within 6 squares to reroll failed saves once. If you run her with General Wedge Antilles and a few Mouse Droids to Relay Orders this is going to be a combination that will be really annoying for any power-shooter squads with everyone having Evade and being able to reroll saves.

As a fighter, Leia isn’t that great, though her +9 bonus to attack is decent. She has Double Attack but you won’t want to use it much since she won’t be able to stand up to many nasty things that might base her. You’ll want to pull her back out of the way as much as possible.

Her Force powers are also pretty nice. Like many other Jedi, she comes equipped with Force Renewal 1, which provides her a nice constant stream of Force points. Force Absorb will allow her to cancel the use of nasty Force powers, which is pretty nice. Where she can be pretty nasty is Force Sense which can strip characters of Stealth within six squares of her. With as many Commander Effects that key of it to do nasty things, Force Sense is going to be pretty nasty all around. Finally, with Lightsaber Throw 2, Leia can do two attacks against the same target at a range of six squares. This is going to be her best attack option, since she still gets her two attacks (that she’d get from Double Attack) without having to stay in the same spot.

This version of Leia is a great boon to the New Republic, though she is a little weaker than Leia Organa Solo. However, it should be noted that Leia Skywalker is 15 points cheaper. She has a much better Commander Effect that she doesn’t have to burn through Force points to activate and her Force powers are a little more applicable against multiple types of squads.

100 POINTS: As much as a like this piece, she doesn’t bring enough damage to the table to be an effective piece. You can try her with General Wedge and a couple of other scrubs, but it’s really not going to be that great a squad for the build because Evade doesn’t come into play that much at this point level and there aren’t many other save-based abilities that get used at this level either. SCORE: 2

200 POINTS: Here, Leia Skywalker is going to be great. Running her with General Wedge to give everyone in your squad Evade means she’s going to be worth every one of her 25 points. As long as you have enough Mouse Droids to Relay Orders across the length of the board, her Commander Effect will be very annoying for any shooters that your squad might run into. She loses a lot of her effective if you’re up against a Melee-heavy squad, but she’s still worth the risk. If nothing else, she might draw a little attention from other pieces long enough to cause some greater damage later. SCORE: 4
