doc Today we have the common Arcanist tactic Obsessive Compulsion.

Some of us can relate better than others… ;)

For a cost and threshold of 1 you get the granddaddy of all draws. There are many other cards that allow you to look at and/or rearrange the cards on the top of your deck, but none allow you to then draw the card you just set yourself up with. And if you didn’t like any of the 3 you just looked at, put them at the bottom of your deck (in the order of your choosing) then draw what’s behind door number 4…the mystery card!

This one’s really simple and straight forward. While The Tournament Faction allows you to draw for a cost of 3, with Obsessive Compulsion’s net cost of 4 you get to choose between 3 cards (or door number 4!). I’d pay that cost every day of the week and twice on tournament day!

In limited, where your deck can be as few as 34 cards (after your starting 2 resources are put into play and you open the game going second with 9 cards in hand) you get a 300% greater chance of drawing the card you want. In constructed, I’d probably use tutor ability over this, but how many times have you left one resource open by the end of your opponent’s turn?

Limited: 4.5/5
Constructed: 3.5/5
