doc Today we have another Rogue surprise. The rare Rogue tactic Counter Attack.

And who doesn’t like surprises?

This 3 cost 2 threshold tactic begs to be combined with Late Addition. The other card it would combo well with would be Erotic Assassin. Otherwise, you’re giving yourself an extra chance to attack, waiting until your opponent has fewer resources available to pull any tricks. Or, in the case of a Limited Liability played by your opponent on your turn, you can recoup what would have been your next attack.

Outside of these situations (and undoubtedly others), Counter Attack is a “wait and see” kind of card. Perhaps you’d like to take advantage of your opponent having more depleted characters before attacking with a certain someone. Hyperphagic Sarcophyle or Ghostly Auditor perhaps.

In limited, I think this will be less useful. In constructed, it will have its niche.

ian spiegel Counter Attack-

I've always liked Rogue's. They've got some of the coolest tricks in the game under their belt, and Counter Attack is no exception.

Generally, you could never attack during an opponent's turn. As the passive player, you are resigned to responding to an opponent's attack with blocking and tactics. Under these limitations, a passive turn generally falls under the same formula- respond, respond, respond.

However, all of this changes with the inclusion of Counter Attack in the environment. In most cases, the active player will be so busy figuring out their stratagy they will not expect a surprise change in pace when you activate Counter Attack.

Rouge's are good at cheating. And Counter Attack lets you cheat.

Using Counter Attack is a perfect way to mess with your opponent and disrupt their plan's, as well as putting you ahead in Influence. Opponent's have to now formulate their attacking Parties under the assumption that they could be attacked at any moment. As such, it becomes as much a physcological card as an aggressive one.

Anything that lets you mess with your opponent is pretty decent in my book. In both constructed and limited, Counter attack lets you do just that.
