Lockjaw - Inhuman's Best Friend

Basics: This is a 1-drop Inhumans character with stats of 2/1. He is concealed-optional so you can keep this guy from taking a severe beating later on in the game. This character also has the ability of being able to search for another Inhumans character at the cost of discarding a card.
Constructed play: This character is a great addition to any mono-inhumans decks. Remember search is good and with the set putting so much search stuff on top of your deck, putting searched characters into hand is even better. Now if you are going to team up inhumans with another affiliation, you may not want 4 copies of this card for you deck. With cards like enemy out there, you can obtain a wider variety of search. I still think 2-3 can't hurt - especially if you have the room.
Sealed play: This card is one of the few 1-drops I would play in this format. In this set characters are spread across 4 main teams, 2 minor teams, and legacy teams. That makes any sort of search great. Even dropping this character later in the game isn't so bad...after all it is better to drop an undersized character you just searched for than it is to not drop anything at all.

Ratings:
MMA constructed - 3.5/5.0 ...Search is great.
GA constructed - 3.0/5.0 ...The hidden area is a little more susceptible in this format.

Limited - 4.0/5.0 ...With so many affiliations being represented, having any search is worth it.

Lockjaw, Inhuman's Best Friend

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed the Heralds of Galactus previews this past weekend. Unfortunately, forces conspired to keep me away, so I'm flying mostly blind in regards to the new set. However, a couple of hours of research on the Interwebs has allowed me to catch up, and now I'm chock full of opinions about the new set.

We're looking at Lockjaw today, one of three dogs featured in VS to date (one cool point for knowing who the other two are), and a search engine on a stick (Get it? Dog...stick?). Remember Bolivar Trask, and how he helped Curve Sentinels hit its curve? Well, Lockjaw does the same thing, albeit with a discard cost. However, Lockjaw can park himself in the hidden area, keeping him from being a liability to you in later turns. He also has a fairly robust 2/1 frame, so he'll force through a point or two of damage during his tenure on the field.

In Sealed (in theory), he's a decent pick, as he'll provide field presence and another character. You'll get the most out of him by dropping him on the first turn, otherwise you get stuck with him in later turns, and using him to search means underdropping for the turn. On the other hand, you don't have to recruit him to get his ability, so if you can get him into play by other, sneakier means, then you can still get his effect.

Rating: 3/5

Alright, let's more on to another new card, this time from the Inhumans.

Lockjaw
Inhuman's Best Friend
Inhumans/1/2/1
Range, Concealed - Optional
When Lockjaw comes into play, you may discard a card. If you do, search your deck for an Inhumans character card, reveal it, and put it into your hand.
Shuffle your deck afterward.

1 drop, 2 ATK, Range, and Concealed - Optional. That alone makes it worth playing. But a character tutor built right in? Staple much? Do I even need to continue the review?

Marvel Modern: Remember Kiddies... 5/5
Silver Age: ...if it's a good tutor... 5/5
Golden Age ...it always gets 5/5
Overall: 5/5

Oh, and if your wondering, there's at least 1 Fantastic Four character on every major team except for Kree. I think...
