Jokerkiller Death’s brace
3 cost plot twist Rare

This is one of the cards that put Underworld over the top of the other Marvel Team-up teams. Discard a card and play both a straight to the grave and mobilize! Comes online the same turn a Meatmarket hmm sounds like he’s a power-up and one in the KO’d pile heck that’s a 3/3 for an attack. Power up Satana on turn 5 she’s now a monster as well. Black Rose combo’s for some sickness as well. This card is a four of in any deck running Underworld that’s also the reason there going for almost $10 a shot!

As you can guess this card is a 5/5 kinda card.

Here's a decent search card for Underworld, and it combos well with Meatmarket and Satana. Discard a card, go find two copies of an Underworld card. Keep one, discard the other. No muss, no fuss, and if you're playing Soul World or Slaughter Swamp, you'll have that discarded copy back in no time, allowing you to use it as a power up. You don't have to get the same version of those two characters, if you want to search out the cheaper version, then have the other one waiting for later in the game. Other than that, there's not much else to do with it. It's similar to other search cards, only with a twist that helps fill your KO'd pile and fuel Underworld effects.

Death's Embrace

3 Cost Plot Twist.

Overview: Discard a card. Search for 2 Underworld characters with the same name. Discard on, keep the other in hand.

Wow... have a search engine. 3 of my first 4 CotD's have been Character Search cards. I'm likin' this set. I wonder if I can find one for my Green Lanterns... :)

Alrighty, as I've alluded to in my previous reviews, I like cards that allow you to draw or search. This one is, at least to me, one of the better that I've seen. Not being a tourny player, I don't know how well Underworld functions. But, this is why I like it. You don't have to discard any specific kind of card for it to work. It reads 'To play, discard a card'. It doesn't have to be a character. It doesn't have to have 'Backup'... just any old card. Sure, you have to pitch one of the cards that you draw, but you can pick ANY character in your deck, so long as its Underworld and you have at least 2 of it in your deck. Also, there is an 'Up to 2' clause in there someplace. That means, in theory, you could search for one card and discard it. Now, does Underworld have any way to get characters back from your discard pile? Ooo... Living Death in Vs... ((drools)). So, in short, I like it. I'd put it in my Underworld deck.

Overall: 4/5
