Deck Designer – Brotherhood Weenie Rush

Hello everyone, my name is Josh Young, and I welcome you to Deck Designer, helping you decide what deck is right for you, and how to make it! The first deck I am going to help you with is the Brotherhood Weenie Rush.

Object of the Deck

This deck is all about getting out fast, strong characters, such as Pyro, Mystique, Quicksilver (Speed Demon), and Sabertooth (Feral Rage). Then, you throw out huge attack modifiers. Some examples are: Savage Beatdown, The New Brotherhood, and Savage Land.

Deck Example

Here is my current Brotherhood Rush deck. After this, I will go into detail about why each card was selected.

Characters –

4x Pyro

4x Quicksilver, Speed Demon

4x Sabertooth, Feral Rage

4x Toad

3x Mystique, Raven Darkholme

3x Destiny

3x Lorelei

3x Darkoth

2x Magneto, Eric Lehnsherr

Other –

4x Dual Sidearms

4x Advanced Hardware

4x War on Humanity

4x The New Brotherhood

4x Savage Land

3x Ka-Boom!

3x Finishing Move

2x Avalon Space Station

2x Genosha

Card Analysis

Pyro

This guy is just amazing. He is a 2/2 for 2 recruit points, which is average. But where he really shines is his effect. Exhaust him to do three points of endurance. That’s it. You can even do it in response to stuff. Plus he comes out turn two! If you are playing a Brotherhood deck, and aren’t playing Pyro, put him in!

Quicksilver, Speed Demon

Yea, he doesn’t have that good Attack/Defense compared to his recruit cost, but he can attack twice per turn. Yes, you heard me right; now stop cleaning out your ears. I said TWICE PER TURN! 16 damage to the face? Or do you just want to stun two weaker characters? The choice is yours with this amazing asset to the deck.

Sabertooth, Feral Rage

Well, truth be told, there isn’t much to say about this guy. He is an 11/7 for 4, and all you have to do is discard a Brotherhood character from your hand. And come on, when are you not going to have a Brotherhood character in your hand? Besides, you can always get it back with Avalon Space Station.

Toad

I really like this guy. He’s a two drop, and has a nice Attack/Defense rating. But I like him because he can’t be stunned. Yep, you won’t be taking two extra damage anytime soon from this guy.

Mystique

Now this little lady, she can hit you where it hurts. So, you’re taking one damage from Mystique? How about five instead? Although I do wish she had a little higher Defense, she is still a very good card for the deck.

Destiny

Destiny, although not a good attacker (duh), if you drop her first turn, and Toad second turn, then that puts the beats on. Toad doesn’t get stunned, and your opponent loses Breakthrough Endurance Loss, loss from the recruit cost, and four endurance from Destiny. That’s a lot to take second turn.

Lorelei

The reason I put her in is that usually during the first and second turn, she can’t be KO’d. Most people first and second turn have 2 or less attack, so their attack becomes 0. You can use it to stall while you draw some stuff, or you can just attack their characters for some damage.

Darkoth

Yes, yes, I know he is Doom and not Brotherhood, but I usually play him turn 5 and proceed to activate The New Brotherhood. So now, I can play a fifth resource for Magneto, and then destroy it so TNB will still have its effect. Pretty nifty, huh?

Magneto, Eric Lehnsherr

This guy is my favorite card in the deck. He exhausts a character with a cost of four or less. How good is that? Plus he has flight and range, so you can put him on the support row, or put him on the front row to protect characters.

Duel Sidearms

C’mon, what is there to say about it? Just like the quote says, “Additional firepower is never, ever a bad idea”.

Savage Beatdown

Wow. Plus five attack. And it doesn’t take resource points to use it (hopefully). What is this world coming to? But, seriously, this thing is amazing. Push through those last points of damage, or just deal some extra to your opponent. This truly is an excellent card.

War on Humanity

What’s better than dealing damage equal to the number of Brotherhood characters you control? Dealing it every turn. Yes sir, now you to can deal an average of 3 damage a turn, for the low, low price of just one threshold.

The New Brotherhood

This is one of the key cards to the deck. It is what makes this deck deadly. Play this turn two right after Toad or Pyro. Really though, +2 attack for EVERY GUY? And you can activate it TURN TWO? This card is insane.

Savage Land

Pump a guy for each other guy. ‘Nuff said.

Avalon Space Station

I really like this card because it can retrieve lost Brotherhood characters. Need that Magneto or Quicksilver back? Get ‘em both for the price of one. Like I said about Sabertooth, when are you going to have a character in your hand?

Genosha

I have met a lot of people who have disagreed with this choice. But I really like, because on average, you will be drawing four new cards. Plus, if you have Magneto on the field, you must be winning, right? (Just kidding… or am I?)

Well, that is it for today! Thanks for sticking through my little (ha! Little…) segment on this deck, and I hope you to will find the pleasure Brotherhood decks give you in Marvel VS. If you have questions or comments, feel free to email me at AMDYoung@comcast.net. See you next time!
