Everyone knows Wolverine and Rogue are the strongest mutants and they’re here to prove they can take on any team all by themselves. This deck focuses around these two main characters and consistency is the way to victory.

HOW IT WORKS

All you have to do is get Rogue and Wolverine in play and let your opponent try to take them down. The deck is based around always being able to boost your Rogue or Wolverine in play by discarding other Rogues and Wolverines you might have in your hand. With Longshot in play you’ll be able to draw more characters so you can boost your two power houses and you’ll increase your chances of drawing cards like Lost City and Avalon Space Station. Every time you use Longshot’s ability always name Rogue and Wolverine, then sit back and watch your hand grow.

This deck is very consistent and really easy to play. There aren’t too many things you can do wrong and could even say the deck can pretty much play itself. But just because it’s a basic deck it doesn’t mean it has an easy time against every deck archetype out there or that it’s 100% foolproof. When using this archetype there are two major things to remember which you should never, ever forget. The first one is that you shouldn’t keep a starting had that doesn’t have a Lost City or a Longshot in it because with out either of those cards you’ll be in a world of trouble. The second one is to always watch out for Doom decks because they are your worst match up.

There isn’t much you can do to avoid getting paired up against a Doom deck which is why you should pay very close attention when playing against one because there is no room for mistakes. Mystical Paralysis is your worst nightmare but just because one of your two ways to victory gets paralyzed doesn’t mean you can’t win this match up. Pyro is there to help you ally your two affiliations and because he’s a really good characters to have when going up against Dr. Doom. If you can get him in play early with a Xavier’s School for gifted youngsters the game is practically yours because Doom decks normally aren’t too aggressive in the early game and the only thing they can do to stop this malevolent combo is top deck a Relocation.

Most of the time you’ll be using Xavier’s School to ready Longshot so you can go trough your deck quicker but when facing Doom you’re better off using this location to fire up Pyro. Now that you know how to handle Doom stall decks let’s look at what to do against those early bomb rush decks. You currently have two Flame Traps to help you keep Sentinels and New Brotherhoods at bay but if there are a lot of New Brotherhood decks in your area I suggest dropping two Savage Beatdowns for the other 2 Flame Traps or you could always change them into Foiled. I personally recommend Flame Trap over Foiled but if you’re really worried about those pesky New Brotherhood decks you could always drop all the Savage Beatdowns to be able to play both cards. Just don’t go too crazy metagaming against New Brotherhood decks because Savage Beatdown is there to help you against everything else, Doom decks included.

Feel free to change the deck around and adapt it to your local environment just don’t move too many cards around. Savage Beatdown is the one card in the deck that can be replaced by something else but everything else should stay as is. I know Marvel team up is the first card you want to take out but I don’t recommend it because most of your deck consists of X-men and there are only eight Brotherhood characters in it. That means you can’t afford not to unite your affiliations by turn four and in order to achieve that you need all eight cards in the deck or you won’t be able to use Lost City.

I don’t have anything else to say about this deck and believe this is the smallest Killer Deck article I’ve written to date. What else is the to say other then it’s a very focused and reliable deck? ^_^
