Upper Deck Entertainment’s $1 Million Vs. System Pro Circuit Stops
In The Big Apple


Event To Be Held At The Jacob K. Javits Center In NYC
 

UDE To Also Host $10k Championship Side Event


(Carlsbad, CA) May 17, 2005 – Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) will award big checks totaling more than $250,000 on Sunday, May 29 when the three-day Vs. System Pro Circuit (which supports both Marvel and DC Comics trading card games) concludes for the hundreds of competitors in attendance.  The UDE Pro Circuit event is a series of four events held throughout the world with well over $1 million in prize money presented to the top-75 finishers.  The New York Pro Circuit kicks off on Friday, May 27, and goes through Sunday when the big money is awarded. 


The intense competition, will be held over three days at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, and will bring together hundreds of the world’s best DC and Marvel Vs. System Trading Card Game (TCG) players.  The world’s best TCG players will travel from as far as Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, and Germany to make the competition a true world tournament.  There will also be last chance qualifier tournaments on Thursday, May 26 for those interested in playing in the big game. 


"The Vs. System Pro Circuit continues to gather steam as more and more people around the world attend and play our events," said Scott Elliott, Program Manager of Organized Play for Upper Deck Entertainment.  "Building off of a very successful European (Amsterdam) tournament last month, we fully expect to have hundreds of players competing for cash prizes.”

 

In addition to the $1 million Pro Circuit event, there will be a $10,000 Championship up for grabs that begins on Saturday, May 27.  There will also be demos available for those who want to learn to play and tournaments

 

Comic fans can come and meet one of the premier artists in the industry as famous Marvel Comics artist Ariel Olivetti is scheduled to appear and sign his TCG cards.  Olivetti, the well-known artist, has sketched more Marvel trading cards for upper Deck Entertainment than any other drawer. 

 

Mr... Olivetti will be signing Vs. System trading cards in the Pro Circuit Signing area at the times listed below:

 

Friday, May 27 1:00 – 3:00

Saturday, May 28 1:30 – 3:30

Sunday, May 29 12:00 – 2:00
