Cryptozoic Entertainment™ Announces New Deck-Building Game, World of Warcraft®: Clash of Champions

Irvine, CA—December 1, 2011: Cryptozoic Entertainment today announced plans to develop and publish a highly accessible new "deck-building-style" card game based on Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft®. Designed for two to four players and featuring many of the most recognizable figures from the award-winning massively multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft: Clash of Champions will introduce all-new gameplay elements to the deck-building genre.

"Over the past few years, deck-building games have emerged as an exciting new area of game design and have exploded in popularity," said Cory Jones, President of Cryptozoic. "We’re pleased to be working with the rich lore of Blizzard’s Warcraft universe to explore the deck-building genre and put our own spin on its mechanics."

In a deck-building game, players start each match with a small pool of basic cards and build on that base by selecting new, more powerful cards to add to their deck as the game progresses. World of Warcraft: Clash of Champions adds to that structure by allowing players to take on the role of some of the most iconic heroes of Warcraft lore, including Thrall and King Varian Wrynn, and customize them with different abilities. Over the course of each game, players will defeat monsters, gain epic loot, and take on familiar raid bosses such as Onyxia and Ragnaros on their way to victory. Each box includes a self-contained game with more than 425 game cards, including oversized hero cards, hero ability cards, monster cards, item cards, and boss loot cards.

World of Warcraft: Clash of Champions will be available in spring 2012 with an MSRP of $45.00. Check out www.cryptozoic.com/
