DSZero's Yu-Gi-Oh Top 10 Overrated/Outdated cards list. A list of cards that have been taken too seriously despite their showing of age. I apoligize for all my spelling errors and incorrect grammar... Im sorta too tired to correct them... Im talking to all of you who insists on putting the following cards despite the continual advice given to take it out. (Btw, I am from the GameFAQs GBA Yugioh boards...) 10. Swords of Revealing Light- Man, people love this outdated, overrated card. In the current environment, there is no use for this card outside of Vampire Lord discard and maybe MST bait. It will be destroyed quickly, and it will be useless against several decks. And why in the -world- would anyone put this into a beatdown deck? BEATDOWN DECK!! If it comes down to you relying on this card, then your beatdown deck has FAILED MISERABLY! 9. Judgment of Anubis - Yes, this card is very useful in decks that base themselves around continuous magic and trap, but thats ALL that it's good for. Magic Jammer easily replaces this card, and Magic Drain can give you an advantage. Its a very rare chance that anyone will ever have a monster on the field when you play this card, so this is outdated. 8. Royal Decree - Oh my god. I haven't seen a higher price on a card before this garbage of a card came out. Why is it garbage? Jinzo gives you a line of defense. A 2400 attack points monster that has no weakness to traps, plus its found everywhere. Royal Decree not only is a trap, but your opponent will be sure that he will have nothing to fear as he pumbles you to death as you top deck again and again. Plus, its so rare, its harder to find then Needle Worm... thats pathetic. 7. Amplifier - Giving Jinzo another weakness... how fun. Yes, this card cannot be negated of it's activation, but being a card that can only be played on a Jinzo, which is restricted 1 per deck, is a BAD thing. And since it states that you destroy Jinzo if this card leaves the field doesn't help Jinzo at all. No deck should have more then 4-5 traps in a deck with Jinzo in it. It comes naturally. 6. Barrel Dragon - I realize that this is a popular card... too bad it sucks. 50 percent chance of destroying a monster on the field. That isn't going to help you. Being 2 sacrifices makes it even worse. The topdecking of this card is just telling your opponent to beat your lifepoints away. I'd rather use Man-eater Bug... at least it's not a 2 tribute monster.... 5. Kuriboh - Bad hand control, bad stats, and worse then waboku... but why do people still insist on sticking this card into their deck at all? Honestly... even Fiend decks don't need these... 4. Enemy Controller - OMG, this is the worst of the bunch. Book of the Moon easily beats this card since it allows a strategy with Sasuke Samurai and Nobleman. Snatch Steal and Creature Swap ends up with you gaining field advantage or maintaining field advantage. This is a GOOD thing. Enemy Controller = overrated. 3. Magic Cyclinders - Negates ONE attack. Just one. And it doesn't even destroy the monster neither. Lifepoints burn might be nice... in a burn deck... but what the heck is this thing supposed to do in a Beatdown deck? Or a Machine deck? It just doesn't help. Overrated AND Outdated. 2. Sakuretsu Armor - How many times has this thing been used? Honestly. It destroys 1 monster. Thats it. Nothing to it. Just wait until your opponent starts to attack with his highest attack points monster and let all his tiny ones beat you to death. Fun. 1. Mirror Force - Bad. Slow. Not chainable. Not competively reliable. It will be destroyed half the time, and the other half, it destroys about 1-2 monsters max. It's just losing its potential power. Torrential does the job nicely, and Waboku is the god of chaining... nothing Mirror Force can do but act as Typhoon bait.
