Yu-Gi-Oh top ten list - the top ten best cards (for the above average/expert duelists)

Welcome to my Yu-Gi-Oh top ten list. I will be posting the cards I have found to be most useful to me in duels (keep in mind I’ve faced many duelists including experts at the world championship 2004)

10: Imperial order

Yes that’s right, Imperial order. This card negates ALL spells for a minor life point cost. Now I know many of you think this card may not be that great, but when I faced the experts and many common duelists, this card came in handy for rendering an opponent useless or just getting rid of one card. This card is a must have (staple if you will) for a good, stable deck.

9: Dark Magician of chaos

Many of you should know this card. It is a 2 tribute monster which is 2800atk, 2600def. That is decent right of the bat but it gets better. When it’s summoned, special summoned, or flip summoned you take a spell card from your graveyard to your hand and when it destroys a monster, that monster is removed from play!!! This card is extremely useful for getting rid of your opponents monsters once and for all, especially useful for cards like witch or sangan. A must have for a chaos deck, still a good card for regular decks.

8: Zaborg the thunder monarch

This is a very good card in my opinion. It is 2400atk (very reliable), 1000def (witchable), and when is tribute summoned destroys one monster on the field. I found this card to work way towards my advantage. I would tribute summon him, destroy a monster, and attack. Even if he’s destroyed in the attack his effect works RIGHT when he’s summoned so it’s a win – win situation. I found this card to work better against average duelists than experts duelists because while experts always have a monster to back up one on the field, regular duelists rely too much on individual cards.

7: Trap Jammer

At first I was skeptical about this card. It can only be activated during the battle phase and it negates any trap your opponent plays (during the battle phase) with no cost. It sounded O.K. so I tested it out….. it is so much more than it appears to be!! Most people only play traps during the battle phase (mirror force, magic cylinder, etc….) but this card stops them all without a cost. My advice is to test this card out for a while and see how it works for you.

6: Cyber Jar

Flip: Destroy all monsters on the field. You and your opponent pick up 5 cards and immediately special summon all level 4 or lower monsters among them in face up atk position or face down def position. This card is great. When your opponent has the upper hand, just wipe the smile off his(or her)face with this card. It has a dark hole effect plus lets you get back on your feet. The only problem is your opponent gets monsters to. Even with that it is a card I highly recommend.

5: Swords of revealing light

This card is very useful, just a must have for any deck. It stops opponents attacks for 3 turns. Very simple yet to the point, what yugioh was founded on. This card gives you 3 turns to regroup which for me, helped win a lot of duels. This card doesn’t work so well against experts just because they have lots of cards like MST.

4:Breaker the magical warrior

This card is 1900atk when summoned, and you can lower it to 1600 to destroy a spell or trap card. It worked GREAT on all types of duelists. I would get an MST effect and a monster. It is a must for a beatdown deck cause it will beat your opponents traps down, and their lifepoints down :D (just watch out for the chain-ed scapegoat on breaker effect)

3:Black Luster soldier – envoy of the beginning

A good card all around, a must have for a chaos deck. He is summoned by removing a light and dark monster in your graveyard from play, which is easier to summon for most cases. If he destroys a monster (he is 3000atk mind you) he can attack again, or you can decide not to attack and remove a monster from play. I don’t know anything bad about this card. Possibly one of the most feared cards, it makes the experts go on edge. Beware for this card can be your greatest ally, or your worst enemy……..

2:Snatch Steal

Take control of one of your opponents face up monsters. Your opponent gains 1000 life points at every one of their stand by Phases. I used this card many times at the world championship tournament 2004 and it was just amazing. I cant tell you how many duels I won in the free play area from using this card to take a deadly monster such as jinzo, or take any monster and offer it as a tribute for a stronger monster before they gain any life points. If you don’t believe me put it in your deck and find out yourself how good it is.

1: Jinzo

That’s right, the J man himself, Jinzo!! This card is simply one of the best if not they best. Negates ALL trap cards, 1 tribute, and 2400 atk power. I found this card was actually more effective against the experts than the regular duelists. Many decks (such as the experts) rely on mainly using their magic and trap cards so using this is like weakening half their deck!!! A MUST HAVE for all decks, summon as quick as possible.
