Subject: 14 Official Rulings to Clear Up Confusion--Barreldragon126

Hi, I'm Barreldragon126, the deck help wizard turned rant & ruling advocate. 
Here are some OFFICIAL rulings (all from the rulebook or Upperdeck's 
official rulings {Note: rulings, not FAQ. A lot of the FAQ rulings are 
outdated and inaccurate})
1)Rulebook: You may summon a Monster in either of 2 positions, face-up 
attack or face-down defense. NO FACE-UP DEFENSE SUMMONS!
2)Rulebook: You may NOT flip a monster from face-down defense to face-up 
defense unless it is attacked or targeted by magic/traps.
3)Rulebook: You may NOT change from attack to defense or from defense to 
attack the same turn a monster is summoned/set. You chose the monster's 
position when you played it.
4)Rulebook: You are not allowed to switch a monster to def in your main 
phase 2 if it attacked that turn.
5)Rulebook: 1 Summon per turn, in either main phase.
6)Rulebook: If you attack and then play/set a monster/magic/trap your battle 
phase is OVER and you are in Main Phase 2.
7)Rulings: Suijin/Sanga/Kazejin deal LP damage equal to their defense points 
if they use their effect while in defense mode, but do not destroy a monster 
or deal damage if they use the effect while in attack.
8)Rulebook: If a defense mode monster is attacked, and its points are higher 
than the attacker's, neither is destroyed.
9)Rulebook: Unlimited magic/trap plays/sets per turn.
10)Rulebook: Traps cannot be activated during the turn you set them, and 
they cannot be played face-up.
11)Rulebook: Only quick-play magics are the only kind of magic card that can 
be activated during your opponent's turn
12)Words of Truth: Ignore the show. Period.
13)Rulebook: Dark Hole, Raigeki, Tribute to the Doomed, etc. do NOT activate 
flip effects. The monsters go to the graveyard, and only then are they 
flipped. Since they weren't on the field when they flipped, the effects 
don't activate.
14)Rulings: Swords of Revealing Light remains on the field while it is in 
effect, and if it leaves the field, its effect ends.
