Soul Release doesn't work like that. The text of Soul Release states " Select up to 5 cards from either you or your opponent's Graveyard and remove them from the current duel."

I agree about the fact Soul Release is effective against nearly any deck out there because Magician of Faith and Mask of Darkness have like become necessities in players' deck. They can't bring back some of the restricte Magic/Trap cards. Please pay more attention to the cards when you're intent on revealing a strategy maybe another person hasn't yet heard of.
