Subject: Ultimate Speed Deck - Nick In case your head is under a rock, you know that almost everyone plays with a speed/beatdown deck almost entirely populated by summoned skulls and la ginn. The speed deck just wants to get everything out of the way quickly so they can deal damage. Just so everyone knows - Your deck could be a heck of a lot better! There are a lot of underated cards that almost noone uses. Here's how to make your deck incredible: Ultimate speed Basics: Ritual Monsters. Specifically, Crab Turtle. I know, it's difficult to get out and it can be easily countered. Guess What? So can everything. Just have 3 Crab Turtle and the Oath in your deck. Add in Two Sonic Birds and you will get your Crab Turtle out FAST. Sometimes in just two turns. Even on the first. READ MY LIPS. On the first turn you can get out a monster with more attack power then summoned skull. Ritual Monsters are good in that they cannot be trap holed, which everybody plays nowadays. And you can play them without a single monster on the feild. Eventually, we will get better rituals (Magician of Black Chaos anyone?) and this stradegy will become much more viable. "Summoning" Magic. Never underestimate these cards. I'm talking Last Will, Spear Cretin, Bubonic Vermin, and the Shallow Grave. These are incredibly powerful cards that noone thinks of when making there decks. Oh, there slow. No their not quit whining. Last Will is incredibly underrated. It makes any 2 tribute monster as accessable as a one tribute. Bubonic Vermin is great for getting tribute monsters out quickly, or as just plain defense in a time of need. When on the field and killing stuff do not have any false notions - Blue Eyes White Dragon is MUCH better then Summoned Skull. Spear Cretin and the shallow grave are, in my opinion, also undeserving of there mistreatment. For christs sake, play with Soul Release if you have to these cards are extremely powerful and can save your life when used properly. And never forget Ultimate Offering, one of the greatest common cards there is. And of course there is Monster Reborn, Call of the haunted, etc. Tribute Monsters. Summoned Skull. And Jinzo if you have it. That is all people think of when it comes to tributes. Now don't get me wrong - They have a place in the deck. But with the proper cards in a deck, you can use other, more powerful cards in your deck instead. For one, Barrel Dragon.if you take my summoning advice seriously and exchange your summoned skulls for Barrel Dragons, your deck will be unstoppable. Blue Eyes is useful as well. Removal. Of course, you would use the 'standards'. Raigeki, Dark Hole, Trap Hole, Man-Eater Bug. But there are others that are often overlooked which are quite powerful. For one, Sheild and Sword. Now don't laugh. This is an incredible underated card. Why? I propose a scenario. They are kicking my a-- with a summoned skull (Which of course everyone uses) I have harpys brother and sheild and sword in my hand. Whats the result? a dead summoned skull. You think that's all? What about the popular Labrynth wall seeing so much play? Dead. Etc. Another underated - wall of illusion. I put this in the removal because it is death to tribute monsters. Anything else really just bounces off. And it is a great tribute monster. Final card is Reverse Trap. Axe of Despair and megamorph have become so widely used that reverse trap has become deadly once again. Monsters. The basics are good. La Ginn, Dark Elf, GAF, Harpys brother. After those, just add in man-eaters, wall of illusions, Cyber Jar, etc. Remember this always - Drawing from several different stradegies makes a deck much more versatile ( As long as you don't add exodia to the deck...) Draw Power. Key to the deck. Use every draw thing available. Pot of Greed, Card Destruction, Upstart Goblin. Also, deck thinners are a great idea. Bubonic Vermin, WOTBF and Sangan are great at getting the cards you want. Other then that, there really is nothing much to say. However, this basic stradegy works so well that in my area people have to make decks specifically to beat mine and i then proceed to beat them.
