Subject: Lord Tranorix: YGO is about having fun Greetings, I am Lord Tranorix, writing today with a tip that will hopefully discourage some of you from playing this game entirely dependent on what others say. Here's what I've noticed: if a card is bashed, more or less ANYWHERE, there are people who will take that card out of their decks for that reason alone. My advice is as follows: 1) Don't take your favorite card out of a deck just because someone says it's bad. 2) Don't dismantle your current deck just because someone says it's bad. 3) Don't build your deck around what other people say; your opinion on what works and what doesn't is always the most valid because you know what works for you better than anyone else would. 4) If you absolutely love a certain card, good or bad, fitting for your deck or not, play it! Yu-Gi-Oh is about having fun, not necessarily having the most competitive deck there is. If you have fun while playing a certain card or deck type, that should be the most important thing. This game should be played however you see fit to play it. If you want to duel with your friends using no tributes, God Cards, proxies, TV show rulings, or whatever, do it (assuming your friends agree). So what if it doesn't work for tournaments? If it comes down to that, make a tournament deck but also a fun deck (that's what I did). You'll find that Yu-Gi-Oh is much more enjoyable when you're playing it as you want to. And thank you, Pojo, for ending the rich kid rants.
