Dragon Fury II - Cyven Alright. Some of you have contacted me about my first tip. I feel honored that my advice is appreciated like this ^_^ Anyway, enough chit chat, let's cut to the chase... This is tip number 2 which I have aptly named Dragon Fury II! This tip will discuss the major weaknesses Dragon decks have when compared to other decks. Ofcourse, all you loyal Dragon duelists out there, have enountered a lot of difficulty with tuning out the most stable deck. And ofcourse, the best way to protect you monsters. After all, getting your BEWD out is easy. The difficult part is keeping it out on the field, right? These are some of the points of a Dragon deck, an opponent might use to his advantage: *Bad Hand Management. If you want to bring out your heavy hitters without tributing for them, you need to use the Flute of Summoning Dragon (either that or the discard/revive technique). Which means you also need Lord of D. Let's say you have Lord of D, a Flute of Summoning Dragon and a Blue-Eyes White Dragon in your hand. That's 3 cards already! If you want to summon a 2nd Dragon, then you use up 4 cards from your precious hand! Later on in the duel this means you have no hand left, which makes you painfully vulnerable to Yata's. Early on you'll have 2 cards left. But one of those is most likely a useful trap card so you set it. Now you have just 1 card left. That's not good... A permanent weakness Dragon decks have is that you run out of a hand quickly. Therefore Hand destruction decks have a strong advantage over our Deck type. I suggest using your hand with caution. Don't lay out too much at once, choose your attacks wisely.... *Bad effects. As you all know, Dragons have mixed effects... usually they have upsides but downsides to neutralize the upsides. Take Spear Dragon for example: has a built in Fairy Meteor Crush, but it switches to def after an attack. Hmm.... not good eh? Your opponent (who no doubt wants to win badly so he went for Chaos) only has monsters with a beneficial effect. Hmmm.... What's that you say? You want to prevent your monsters from being targetted by your opponent's designating card effect? Well say no more! The solution lies within the one card used to summon your Dragons for free: Lord of D. Lord of D. makes it so that your opponent cannot target any face up Dragon Type monster with any card effect that designates a target. Change of Heart on my Tyrant Dragon? I think not! But, we almost forget Lord of D's setback: He's a spellcaster. In other words: not a Dragon. Oh no! so your opponent CAN target him? Yes, but have no fear! DNA Surgery and/or D. Tribe can save you! both cards allow you to turn your face up monsters into Dragons (thereby allowing Lord of D. to protect itself). The only difference is that DNA Surgery is continuous while D. Tribe only lasts for the turn in which it was activated. Use DNA Surgery with Lord of D. and your face up monsters cannot be targetted. Thse are the biggest weaknesses Dragon decks have, as far as I can tell. But there are still some problems Dragon decks hae, but I will discuss those in my next tip. See ya!
