The Masked Beast

The strongest Ritual Monster in terms of ATK point right now. Heck, it's even stronger than Blue-Eyes White Dragon and has the same ATK as Black Skull Dragon. Personally though, I never really liked Rituals that much because it requires way too many cards to get out. It's a Special Summon though, so in a sense, it's kinda fast as you can still Normal Summon another Monster on the same turn.

NickWhiz1 Thursday - The Masked Beast

*insert witty, nonexistant introduction here* I couldn't think of one =/

Anyways, this is currently the most powerful "Normal" monster in the game ("Normal" meaning anything that can be reasonably summoned, sorry Gate Guardian ;.;). 8 stars for 3200, even as a Ritual, is brutally efficient. Watch your opponent writhe in agony as you waste 4 cards just to destroy their Jinzo. The one thing I don't like about Rituals is that they are too dependant on other cards (like the Ritual magics, Sonic Bird, Senju, etc.) Maybe it's just my personal opinion, but it's actually entertaining watching my little brother ram his Masked Beast into Mirror Force/Magic Cylinder/Penguin Soldier, just to have all that hard work wasted =/

Score: 3.4 (Hey, 3200 attack is nothing to sneeze at, it's just I don't like Rituals in general. So sue me =/)
SomeGuy Thursday - The Masked Beast

DARK/Fiend/Lv 8/3200ATK/1800DEF
This monster can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Magic Card, Curse of the Masked Beast. You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 8 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand.

Sure he's beefy, but you will be killing off your hand and/or field in order to bring him onto the Field.. That's not something I like do to very often. More card disadvantage...

If you really want an excessively high ATK, just Megamorph something. This much power isn't really necessary. And seeing how it takes several cards to get him out and fighting, chances are you won't have many Counters on the Field to protect him.

Overall The Masked Beast is just another high ATK Monster with an expensive cost. It won't cut it in the tournament scene. Though, you'll have plenty of fun in casual play.

Rating: 2.5
Lady Poet Today's card is The Masked Beast. Now of course, this card is a ritual monster, making me like him less. He comes in a set of 2, The Masked Beast(UR) and his ritual (Co). Without searchers (Senju and Sonic Bird), Its hard to draw both the ritual and monster unless you have more than one of each. Besides my dislike for ritual monsters, The Masked Beast is pretty strong. 3200/1800 is nothing to laugh at. Taking out a BEWD is one hit, this is one big monster. Of course, you need to tribute for him. You must tribute monsters that levels are equal to 8 (feild or hand). This monster is decent, you can even try building a deck around him if you like him alot.

Casual Rating: 4.0
Tourney/Competitive Rating: 2.5
