May I just say that “Incandescent Ordeal” is probably my favorite name for a ritual magic card… thank-you.

Well… interesting, interesting….

This card… ain’t that great, IMO. It definitely doesn’t compare to yesterday’s Dark Master Zorc.

Its kind of like a Dark Hole effect, but it requires your opponent to play 3 spell cards first… which might end up destroying this monster long before you actually manage to pull of the effect.

Also, I might add that its attack power isn’t great compared to most other level 7 or 8 monsters… Its like… a Red Eyes… except for the fact that a Red-Eyes isn’t very good.

As such, I am disinclined to Acquiest your request… (heh… Pirates of the Caribbean…)…

Err… that is to say… I am disinclined to play this card, or give it a rating over 3.

Actually, it gets a 2…

But it gets an extra 0.5 for being a Ritual Card…

And another extra 0.5 for having the Ritual magic card with the coolest name.

3/5 – its not bad… but its not great… its like… Purgatory: The Card

Well for 1 star more you get 400 ATK up from Burger, But, while its nice to sac monsters in hand at times, its usually going to be easier to sac the one on the field for Summoned Skull (or the Archfiend variant) if your going for attack. Yet this monster is also a walking bomb. Only drawbacks are that it shows no mercy to your side of the field either, and that it musts last three magic cards. Magic cards are usually over a third of the deck, so seeing them played is not overly rare. Yet most of them are going to be able to destroy you, or get a monster/trap that can. Still, play your cards right and you can get all 3 counters same turn it’s played if you like. This card relies a lot on timing.

This card is like a really watered down gilford the lighting, sort of, well not really. Pulling off the ritual itself isn't too hard. The only downside to pulling it off is that the 2000 DEF makes it unsearchable by wotbf. Once you summon it you have at the very least a 2400 beatstick. Getting 3 counters on this card isn't impossible, but it is somewhat difficult. With other cards that require three spell counters, ie SDM or SWM, that's easy as you can just summon, play graceful, pot, etc. With this guy you need to successfully pull off the ritual and by then you have probably used up the majority of your spells. If you can however manage to get three counters on this guy you get a dark hole-ish effect. Say you have sangan on the field, activate the effect (you still have your normal summon) and get yata. If you have cleared his hand that would be game.

Tourney - 2.6/5

Draft - 1.0/5

Artwork - 3.6/5

Closing Line - Pot, graceful, delinquent...NUKE THE FIELD! YATA! GAME!

***NOTE**

for those of you on the forum who felt the need to flame me, NO contract with the abyss cannot be used with Zorc AND Relinquished, if you carefully read the text on Zorc, he can be ritual summoned using ONLY contract with the dark master, meaning no other rituals, its like no fusion subs with balter.
