Dark Paladin
Friday

All right, closing the week we look at Cell Explosion Virus, another card with pictures of a Goblin, or in this case, several Goblins, namely of an Attack Force.

Anyway, the effect is great. If you're playing an Alien Deck, this is a fantastic card for you. If a monster with an "A-Counter" attacks you, all attack position monsters they control are destroyed. Use it if you play the Deck, if you don't, then don't...obviously.

Ratings:

4/5 Alien
1/5 elsewhere

GLAS-EN076 - EXPLOSION VIRUS

This card is kinda cool, I'd like to think someone would be willing to try it out. But I know no competitive player will. Justi-Break is the perfect example of a card better than this with an easier activation requirement that has seen little to no competitive play. Explosion Virus is meant for its them, outside of an alien deck you'd kinda look dumb due to deck inconsistency, trying to place a-counters on a monster to use a potential three traps.

2/5

good theme support, but not enough to warrant my attention
General Zorpa Cell Explosion Virus

Not a bad card, it is Mirror Force for the Alien Theme. Unfortunately, it requires you to have an opponent's monster with an A-Counter declare an attack. It is hard enough to get the A-Counters onto the opponent's monster with the fact that monsters live maybe a turn or two and then die. If Aliens had a counter support card like Fog Control for Cloudians, then we might actually have something going here with the Venom monsters. However they insist on dripping out the Alien support that is actually not that great.

The First Hokage Cell Explosion Virus

Today we are continuing looking at Gladiators Assault with the card Cell Explosion Virus. This card has potential in Alien Decks, it just depends on how well you can make Aliens work.

The effect is nice, when a monster with an A Counter attacks you, you get to destroy all attack position monsters your opponent controls. I think that is pretty nice. And there are enough Aliens out there for this card to work with. Aliens are still not Tier 1 or 1.5, but they are getting better.

In Traditional, Aliens really have no shot.

My Ratings:

Advanced: 2.75/5
Traditional: 1/5
Art: 3/5
