ExMinion OfDarkness
The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh

This is pretty much the entire reason that if Stein weren't banned, that it wouldn't be. (Dangit, I miss my Steins!)

Flute is a dual-purpose card. It can pull a Kuriboh to your hand so you can stop the damage from an attack from a big monster, or it can throw a Kuriboh to the field. Can we say "tribute fodder"? Can we say "new Monarch build?" This ranks right below Treeborn Frog and Brain Control, and about up there with Instant Fusion as to methods to get a monster on the field just long enough to tribute for a Monarch.

Expect your local originality guy (or your local guy who runs good decks but it a crazy deckbuilder) to start running this for trib fodder, and if it works, expect everyone else to follow suit.

3.5/5 + 0.5 for every deck that makes an SJC Top 8 using a Kuriboh Monarch engine

Dark Paladin
Sorry for missing the last few cards and such, the holidays, and just having gotten back from Basic Training has been a handful. Plus, I only had two weeks to register for my college classes for the semester, it has been a nightmare.

Enough about my personal life, welcome to McDonald's Promo week. I always thought it was cool that they did this, however infrequently.

Today we look at the Flute of Summoning Kuriboh, which really makes you think about playing Kuriboh or Winged Kuriboh, outside of the Kuriboh deck. As far as tech goes, this card is simply awesome.

You get to add one Kuriboh OR Winged Kuriboh from your deck to your hand...or wait, if that isn't enough, you could instead summon your choice straight to the field (obviously Winged Kuriboh being the better option there.)

Can you say versatility? Plus, this opens up new windows of tribute fodder for say Monarch and Monarch Control decks, as you have a free, quickplay Special Summon to just whisk away, even on your own turn.

It's actually a stable card, for pretty much any deck, namely Monarch build or anything else requiring a tribute, or maybe more than the normal amount.

Flute of Summoning Kuriboh

I love this card!

The ability to generate a speed/burn deck complementing Accumulative Fortune and other spells/traps used in the chain strike deck. Even more potential comes from a new age Exodia deck. Using this and other draw cards to generate chains that once again satisfy the activation cost of Accumulative Fortune.

A weird tech card in a tribute/monarch deck, thus guaranteeing we have a tribute while slimming down our deck?

4/5

A great card that can be abused. If you have a deck abusing this, send me an email:)

Ryoga
Flute of Summoning Kuriboh:
Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Well, Kuriboh decks just got a little boost. Yu-Gi-Oh lacks hugely in tutors, and a tutor from the deck to the field seems about as good as one could get. Shame, really, that Winged Kuriboh LV10 requires two discards, as you can now activate this at the start of the battle phase, then summon LV10, then destroy a hoarde of evil. Sounds like fun to me.

Flute of Summoning Kuriboh

This Quick-Play was THE best Quick-Play for combating Stein OTKs. So Stein got Banned right before this came out. ^_^

What’s great about his card is that it let’s you grab Kuriboh or Winged Kuriboh from your deck and add to your hand or Special Summon one of them to the field. Ever complained about where your Kuribohs were when Stein knocked you out. This is the card for you in that situation, but just a tad too late in being released.

OTKs like Stein don’t come around very often in a format. I wonder what will happen to Kuriboh’s popularity over the next few months? Is he going to sit in people’s binders now?

Last Word: This card is great. Only problem is that it was released too late. Oh well. A least we have it.

YGOmaster
Flute of Summoning Kuriboh

This has got to be my favorite card from the new Mcdonad's Promo Set. It's a nice card, and at a lot of points could be a +1. Kuriboh and Winged Kuriboh are Light and Dark, which means you can use them with Strike Ninja or Freed the Brave Wanderer. This thing also provides instant field presence, and tribute fodder for something else. It can also stop game-ending times. It's a pretty nice card.

Advanced Format: 3.5/5

Traditional Format: 2.5/5-You can use him with Chaos here

This is YGOmaster, signing off.
