Reinforced Human Psychic Borg...a monster with too long a name, opens the week. We have a Level 4, Earth attributed, Psychic-type monster with 1500 attack (low), and 800 defense (even lower...)

Now, RHPB tries to make amends for his subpar attack by an attack increase ability. Generally, you would probably play the monster that has more attack points, but let's at least look at how he increases his attack.

Up to twice per turn, you can remove two Psychic monsters from your Graveyard from play to have this card gain 500 attack. So if you remove one, that's 2000, and two gives you 2500, both which are good on a Level 4 monster.

I have a couple of problems here...first, don't Psychic Decks work best by Synchro Summoning monsters and having other Psychic types on the Field? Furthermore, this card is really only good later in the game, as you need the monsters in the Graveyard to remove.

Ratings:

1/5 both formats, as it does something, but it's horribly outclassed, even in it's own Deck

General Zorpa Reinforced Human Psychic Borg

We are the Borg. Lower your traps and surrender your cards. Resistance is futile. LOL at myself. Anyway, today's card is Reinforced Human Psychic Borg. A mouthful of a name on a meh card. He has 1500 ATK and 800 DEF, which is on the lower end of average for competitive play for a 4 star EARTH Psychic.

The effect is that up to twice per turn you can remove from play a Psychic monster in your graveyard from play to have him gain 500 ATK. For those of you playing at home, that is 2000 or 2500 ATK respectively. You remember how good Bazoo was? This card is better. He gets up to the same boost with one less card to remove and is in a much more supported monster type.

There is a Psychic support card from RGBT that allows you to get 2 removed from play Psychic monsters and add them to your hand. You can combo these cards with Hand Destruction in order to sift through your deck, power up your Borg and at the same time leaving an opponent reeling from your nerdy awesomeness.

Granted, it is rather a limited combo, but a solid Psychic deck has a chance, and even though this card is only pretty cutesy in terms of the things it can do, a 2500 beater every turn while setting up for DDR or Return from the Different Dimension is actually pretty devastating. Combo this with Krebons, Mind Master, Mind Protector and Krebons and you have some pretty neat stuff you can do. The format is a little slower now, so it might actually have a chance competitively.

Reinforced Human Psychic Borg ...

Nice. This is a very understated monster that i feel has gotten overlooked in this set, what with a lot of big flashier monsters that spark much more conversation. But just take a look at how this Borg is built!

First off - he's a Psychic type with no life point cost. He's earth attribute ... nice. And with 4 stars - his stats are almost as sound as can be. 800 DEF is a little pesky, but 1500 ATK makes him perfectly searchable by Sagan, or special summonable by Giant Rat, if that's your stylo ...

And then effect? - Up to TWICE per turn u can remove 1 psychic monster in your grave from play to increase his ATK by 500. So limited only by the amount of psychics u have at your disposal, he can essentially boost his own ATK by 1000 each turn. a 4 star 2500 attacker? - are u kidding me?? And his effect doesnt appear to go down, so next turn - u can bring him to 3500.

This is just awesome, with no real downside to playing him. If I played Psychics - i'd play 2 or 3 of these. No doubt.

Reinforced Human Psychic Borg starts off our Card of the Day this week. Seriously has a long name. Anyways, he's a pretty decent monster. Earth, level 4, 1500 attack, 800 defense and by removing 1 Psychic type monster from your graveyard from play it gains 500 attack, and you can use the effect twice per turn. This is a good card to have in any Psychic themed deck only because of the fact that with Krebons, Psychic Commander and Emergency Teleport you are bound to have multiple Psychic monsters in your graveyard to remove for his effect. He's searchable with Giant Rat too if you somehow worked Rats into a Psychic deck.

There really isn't much to this card, its mainly a beatstick for Psychic monsters, you can abuse its effect with cards like Burial from a Different Dimension, Return from the Different Dimension and various other cards. Its something you cant just splash into any deck though so strictly for a Psychic Deck.

Lol Pisko Reinforced Human Psychic Borg

This card is a Bazoo for Psychic monsters only, but the attack gain is permanent. It seems like it could be good for taking down big synchros, but the Psychic theme as a whole (outside of Teleport, Krebons, and Commander) isn't very good. Another problem is that Book of Moon is such a huge this card. If you aren't playing against a deck that mains Book, then they're playing Skill Drain or Honests (maybe even both). This card is far from terrible, it just lacks proper support now that Teleport is at one and the format is sort of against it.

Jeff Lang Reinforced Human Psychic Borg

Today’s card is Reinforced Human Psychic Borg. I would have loved the Psychic deck if they wouldn’t have touched Emergency Teleport. Anyways if you want to try the deck out, it could still be pretty decent. The first thing that comes to mind, would be to use this card and Psychic Path. You could toss Ultimate Offering into the deck and try to make it a swarming deck. You can also grab this guy off of Giant Rat, so that is another plus. Quite a few of the Psychic guys are Earth type, so the Rats won’t go to waste. Once again, if Emergency Teleport wasn’t knocked down to 1 per deck, I could say more about the deck. The deck is still very fun to use though, and you should try the deck out
