General Zorpa Rinyan, Lightsworn Rogue

Here we have one of the exclusive Lightsworn cards that everyone was talking about. Too bad it isn't any good. We have a level 2 Beast with 100 ATK and 100 DEF and is of course of the LIGHT attribute. These stats are not looking too good for Rinyan, but Ryko is played and he has poor stats as well.

The effect is so bland I almost puked. FLIP: and you add a Lightsworn monster from your graveyard to your deck and then draw a card. As the entire goal of the Lightsworn deck is to put cards in the graveyard, this card does not fit well.

In the end, this card is slow, ineffective and rather contrary to the point of the entire Lightsworn deck which is to draw, mill, swarm and play JD. I suppose in a slower control based Lightsworn deck it might make a spot, or as a one-of to hit JD sooner, but I doubt it. Cute picture though.

Rinyan, Lightsworn Rogue …

It’s a cute little cat doing … cute little cat things!
Basically though it’s a new Lightsworn monster, and being a Lightsworn player, I’m totally happy about. Aaaannnd, it’s a fairly good one. It’s stats are lousy … it would have been BETTER if it were level 1 … and a GODSEND if they had made Rinyan a Tuner … but alas …
That being said, it allow u to return a fallen Lightsworn monster to your deck AND draw another card. Excellent. Everyone knows how important draw power is to a deck. Coupling that with the ability to re-deck a fallen Wulf, to hopefully discard and special summon, or a finished Celestia that’s just doing nothing for nobody in the grave is a great thing.

Since Lightsworn is one of the few decks that isn’t AS overly concerned with deck size, u should be fine an able to find space for this little cat. Afterall – u don’t want your opponent thinking the only thing u know how to set facedown is Ryko!

Last but not least, we have the furry little cat like creature thats been added to the Lightsworn series. Its a level 2, beast that when flipped returns a Lightsworn monster in the Graveyard to the deck then you draw 1 card. This isn't too big a deal but it allows reuse of key Lightsworn monsters like Celestia, Lightsworn Angel, Wulf, Lightsworn Beast and so on. Its summonable with Rescue Cat like Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter but again its still a target for Rescue Cat's effect. Will Lightsworn players use Rinyan? They may side 2 and main 1 or main 2 and side 1, I am sure we'll possibly see Rinyan at SJC Columbus and fairly sure we'll see how well it does. Till then its a balanced effect, so its definately at least a card to consider.

Rinyan, Lightsworn Rogue, one of the new lightsworn in stardust overdrive. Please do not run this card in your lightsworn deck. With terrible stats and a slow weak effect it is just crap.

This Fridays card of the day is a very interesting one, Rinyan, Lightsworn Rogue. This card allows you to do two things in lightsworn deck, one is it now gives you more targets for Rescue Cat if you want to run that in Lightsworn hahaha and the other use is it allows you to bring out your wulf over and over again. The way you will use this card is by setting it when you have a dead Wulf in the graveyard, then when its flipped, return Wulf and draw a card(hopefully not Wulf). Then after this, you will try to mill out that very wulf. The other possible use for this card is to set it when you accidently milled all your lumina’s and need to fetch one. This card can be used in LS,but I wouldn’t expect to see it in any competitive play, and if you do,its probably being run at 1.

Traditional: 1/5 (I don’t see this being any good in traditional)
Advance: 2/5  (Its not a great card for LS at the moment, maybe it will become better later on, but for now its bad)

Art:  3/5 (Weird cat with heart shaped ears, kinda plain lol)
