Speaking of bad Synchro Monsters...X-Saber Wayne, a Level 5 Synchro monster, Earth type, with 2100 attack and 400 defense, both are which obviously bad. We have a Warrior who is Synchro Summoned with one Tuner and one or more non-Tuner monsters, which is good, no restriction.

When Synchro Summoned, you can Special Summon one Level 4 or lower Warrior-type monster from your Hand. There are good X-Saber cards and good X-Saber Synchro Monsters, but this one you can do without. It actually slows the Deck down and doesn't do enough for you.

Ratings:

Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 2/5 It is better than Junk Destroyer
Art: 4.5/5

X-Saber Wayne ...

Who? ... Wayne. ... WHO?!?!?! ... Wayne. ... ok.

This is one of those that u will scratch your temple raw and bloody trying to figure out what to do with him, cuz u just SWEAR he's gotta be good ... right? ... Well, he is.

In it of himself, he doesn't look like much. 2100 ATK. 5 stars. Warrior. When Synchro summoned, u can special a level 4 or lower Warrior from your hand. Yadda, yadda, yadda. We've seen it before with easier to summon monsters. So why care? Cuz, despite Wayne's deceptive lack of tuning restrictions - he's not made for just ANY deck. Not even for just any Warrior deck. He's an X-Saber.

X-Sabers loop-swarm almost as deadly and annoying as Infernities. Monsters that special summon more monsters from the hand often run into the dilemma of hand/resource depletion due to over-extending. With Darksoul's ability to almost constantly and continually replenish the hand, X-sabers will rarely lack a decent target for Wayne's effect when he's Syncho summoned. U got 2 X-sabers, which then clears the way for Faultroll who then brings an X-saber from the Graveyard (possibly that Darksoul again?)... and chances are, u haven't even normal summoned yet. Normal summon a Tuner, synch with Darksoul, and ... well, u get the point. And that's just one haphazard scenario.

Wayne is good news for the X-Saber deck.
I'm sure everyone one of them will be playing at least one of him.

Today's card is X-Saber Wayne, which isn't remarkable at all. He doesn't do anything for his own X-Saber decks because there's not much he can summon, and there are much better Synchros to make, namely XX-Saber Hyunlei Nukes Your Defenses. He lets you special summon a Warrior from your hand, but looking at those weak stats, there isn't much that will redeem him.

If you're looking for a Level 5 Synchro, Ally of Justice - Catastor will do better than this in virtually any situation. If you can't afford that, Magical Android will hold her ground better as well.

2.5
Art: Wayne plays Red Dead Redemption.
Fun Fact: You should be watching Adventure Time.
Tomorrow: No more CotD until the 7th. :(

X-Saber Wayne

John, er, X-Saber Wayne is a 5 star Synchro Monster who is an EARTH Warrior. He's got 2100 ATK and 400 DEF. Unfortunately for this desperado, that's not a very good start.

His effect does, however, make him useful. When Synchro Summoned, you're able to Special Summon a level 4 or less Warrior from your hand. This means a few cool tricks.

Cool Trick #1. Pretty straightforward: Wayne can make instant 7- or 8-star synchros. Usually you'll be playing Wayne in a dedicated X-Saber deck, which means you can throw down Pashuul or Fullhelmknight and make whatever you like. If you make Colossal Fighter this way, it will have a minimum of 3000 ATK.

You can even follow this trick up with Gottoms' Emergency Call. X-Sabers aren't usually able to make 8-star Synchro Monsters too easily, so this can be very useful.

Cool Trick #2. Make Wayne, summon any X-Saber warrior. You now can drop that XX-Saber Faultroll in your hand. Usually, you would just play Faultroll when you had two monsters out, then Synchro using those two, then use Faultroll's effect to revive one of them.

This method, however, has a bonus over the usual way: Due to Cool Trick #1, it has a tendency to baiting out cards like Bottomless Trap Hole and Torrential Tribute. This leaves your precious Faultroll safe, so you can still do your shenanigans with it later.

I'm sure most people won't want to drop their copies of Ally of Justice Catastor for this guy, but I definitely recommend they find room for a copy of Wayne. Just one probably all you need, since making a 5-star in X-Sabers isn't too common.

Advanced: 3/5 He's definitely got some uses in X-Sabers, but nowhere else.
Traditional: 1/5 I'm trying to think of a reason to play this cowboy here, and I can't.
Art: 5/5 One of my favorite card arts. But why is a cowboy wearing a mask? What is his secret?!
