Xyz Veil, reasonable Xyz support, or support in general, although has the unfortunate category of being a Continuous Trap, but I guess helps add some balance to a decent enough card.  Face up Xyz Monsters with Xyz Material cannot be targeted by card effects.  Now, first let's clarify that this card does not, repeat, does NOT, finally, DOES NOT state anything like "your Xyz Monsters" it says "face up Xyz Monsters" to include both players, and that does hurt the playability of this card also.  Anyway, this essentially means that (so long as there is/are Material(s)), your opponent must Battle them, which will likely have their own Monsters destroyed, via some sort of ability, or not being strong enough.  One might be worth trying out, if only for Tech value.

Ratings:
3/5 all around, for reason listed above

We're starting this week with Xyz Veil, the Sneak promo for Generation Force. There really isn't much to say about this. It only saves your Xyz from targeting effects like Mind Control or monsters like Scrap Dragon. It can still be killed in battle or by cards that don't target, like Bottomless Trap Hole, Dimensional Prison and Dark Hole. Even worse, your monster needs to have Xyz materials remaining in order to get this protection.

It's almost like Konami said "Hold it, that might be a good card," and decided to kill it.

1.5/5
Art: Have you seen it in real life? It's odd.
Fun Fact: This promo should've been an actual Xyz.
Tomorrow: A new set of Hero cards.

Xyz Veil

Xyz Veil is an interesting continuous trap card from Generation Force. Our sneak preview card could have been a lot better. I was hoping for another exclusive Xyz monster, but no, they gave us this. It’s effect is simple, face-up Xyz monsters cannot be targeted by card effects as long as they have Xyz materials. Unfortunately this effect isn’t very good. This card may prevent a Dimensional Prison, Book of Moon, Compulsory Evacuation Device, or even an Effect Veiler from hitting your Xyz monster, but is it really worth it to play a continuous trap designed to protect Xyz? I can think of 1 deck that consistently Xyz summons (Offering Gadgets). Maybe you could combo it with Magic Planter because the deck already runs continuous traps, but I really don’t see the point. Xyz Veil could have been a lot better, but unfortunately it’s what we got. I definitely won’t be running this card any time soon.

Xyz Veil

A relatively unimpressive exclusive Trap Card, Xyz Veil makes all Xyz Monsters with Xyz Materials invulnerable to targeting effects. It's not that bad, really, but the issue that you have to have a face-up Xyz Monster that's relatively fresh makes this card fairly situational. And it only takes a Dark Hole to render it pointless. Konami probably felt they had to give us this to buffer the monstrosity that is Reborn Tengu.
