Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

T.G. Cyber Magician
#EXVC-EN016

If this card is used as a Synchro Material Monster for the Synchro Summon of a "T.G." Synchro Monster, you can use "T.G." monsters in your hand for the other non-Tuner Synchro Material Monster(s). During the End Phase of the turn this card on the field was destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 "T.G." monster from your Deck to your hand, except "T.G. Cyber Magician".

Now here we have a fun Tuner, like yesterday, and this guy is a bit more useful in my book.  T.G. Cyber Magician, is a Level 1, Tuner monster, and a Light attributed, Spellcaster, with 0 attack and defense.  Now the beauty of this little guy, is that he lets you use T.G. monsters in your Hand as Synchro Material monsters, providing this card is face up on the Field.  That's simple enough.  Likely this will happen about immediately, with the 0 attack and all.  You can just hold him in your Hand until you need him, drop him, Synchro, and that's that...we hope.  Like the rest of the family, when destroyed in Battle, he replaces himself with a T.G. monster from the Deck to the Hand, excluding himself.  This is a must in the Deck, for sure.

T.G. Cyber Magician is like one of the first cards I reviewed here, Mara of the Nordic Aflar, with a few key differences.  First of all, you don't HAVE to use monsters from the hand.  You can use monsters on the field also, which helps.  But unlike Mara, if you are synchroing from the hand, you can only synchro into a T.G. monster.  Kinda sucks not being able to just herp derp out a Trishula, but being able to easily drop Hyper Librarian is nice.

It has the standard T.G. replacement effect which is decent, and I already touched on that yesterday.  Pretty much the same thing I said yesterday applies today.  Any points lost by not having the special summon effect are gained back by being able to synchro from the hand.

Thursday: T.G. Cyber Magician

More Tech Genus today! Cyber Magician is a level 1 spellcaster monster which is also a tuner. Its effect lets you use monsters from your hand as the non-tuner monsters when you synchro a T.G. monster. Since it is easy to have T.G. monsters in your hand at all times since a lot of them search another one when they are destroyed, this can definitely pack a punch. This card also has the same effect of letting you add a T.G. monster to your hand during the end phase of the turn it was destroyed, except itself of course. There's really not much more to say about it though. I guess being Light-attributed is good? You won't see it outside of Tech Genus decks though.

Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 3.5/5 in Tech Genus decks
Artwork: 2.5/5 A lot of the T.G. cards have very underwhelming artwork.

Yet another T.G. monster. However, this one looks really funny. Such a tiny little magician. I dunno, makes me lol a bit. Being as such you have a spellcaster tuner thats a level one. 0 atk/0 defense for this little boy. His effect is pretty cool though. As I mentioned in my T.G.
Rush Rhino review, T.G. Cyber Magician can syncrho summon with T.G.
monsters in your hand while hes on the field. BUT, they must be T.G.
monsters. It also has that same destruction/graveyard add a T.G.
monster other than magician effect that other T.G. monster have. The card has a wide variety of uses as it can be search through multiple means; sangan, one for one, apprentice magician and shining angel. It can be used for T.G. synchro summons and such. So overall, not that bad, and may inspire someone to make a T.G. spellcaster type hybrid deck. Overall, not really breaking the meta but as I said in the previous T.G. card reviews the archetype has some potential.
