Call of the Atlanteans gains a lot of playability by being a Quickplay Magic card, and essentially reads "use this to Special Summon tomorrow's card, as I am pictured on the card."  If you're playing tomorrow's card, you play this, maybe a pair, although I'm not thinking you use this on the opponent's turn if the necessary Monsters get destroyed, thus delaying your plan.  But it could protect you from taking Damage.  Or at least have you taking less Damage.  The downside here, and the obvious upside to the Quickplay, is that if you use this on your opponent's turn and protect the Monsters, you can use them next turn.  You can't Special Summon after using this, so potato, potatoe...that does hurt the card friends.

Today we answer the Call of the Atlanteans. A quick play spell card, you target 3 level or lower Sea-Serpent type monsters in your graveyard and special summon them. You cannot special summon a monster the turn you activate this card. Being a quick play spell card makes this card way more playable as you can use this for both offense or defense. If you are on the defensive, you can use this when your opponent is trying to attack. You can build a wall 3 monsters thick with this card, saving you for another turn. Offensive wise, this card can be used to special summon Poseidra, or if you were really smart, use it on your opponent's end phase and then do what you need to do on your turn. You can team your 3 Sea-Serpents with Atlantean Dragoons and A Legendary Ocean to knock Dragoons down a level so it can attack directly as well. Or use it to summon an Egyptian God! The choices are up to you. If you are using Sea-Serpents/Atlanteans, then this card is a must.

Tomorrow: King of the Sea monsters.

Angelic Nightmare

Welcome back t our Atlantean week! Today we have a new spell card that has the potential to be very devastating: Call of the Atlanteans

Call of the Atlanteans

QuickPlay (Spell Speed 2)

“Target 3 Level 3 or lower Sea Serpent-Type monsters in your Graveyard; Special Summon all 3 of them. You cannot Special Summon other monster(s) during the turn you activate this card.”

This card, easily put, is an easy +2 with a drawback that is almost negligible.  This card isn’t the best early game unless you are running the diva engine with atlanteans.  Other than that simple combo, it is best saved to use on your opponent’s battle phase or end phase.

This card can easily set up for great tribute fodder, especially if you decide to make a Monarch variant of the atlantean deck. This is great if you decide to splash in an Obelisk the Tormentor, Beast King Barbaros, or any other 3 tribute monster.  Also, this is almost a free xyz depending when you use this card.

Pros: Instant +2, great mid-late game, and is chainable.

Cons: Restricted to sea-serpents and can’t special summon anymore that turn.

Advanced: 3/5
Traditional: 2/5
