All right, welcome to Thunder week, as we continue to delve into Return of the Duelist.  Spirit Converter, a Continuous Magic card, that has at least one rather unique ability.  Hypocritical as this will sound (at least in tomorrow's review) I don't find the first effect of this card all that necessary.  Once a turn, you can target an XYZ Monster you control, and attack one Level 4 Light Monster you control to the XYZ as Material.  That's not bad, but it sucks it has to be Level 4, and it can't just be from your Hand and/or Graveyard, you have to control it.  Now the latter ability is good, when this card is destroyed, you can target two Level 4, Light, Thunder Monsters from your Graveyard, and add them to your Hand.  If they exist in the Graveyard, this card turned itself into a +1.  Honestly, despite the second effect, hell, both effects, I say take it or leave it.

It's a new week and these cards are best suited for a card we reviewed last week, Number 91: Thunder Spark Dragon. Today we get to review Spirit Converter.

Once per turn: You can target one Xyz monster you control; attach 1 level 4 LIGHT monster to that target as an Xyz material. When this cards is sent from the field to the graveyard: Target 2 level 4 LIGHT-Thunder type monsters with the same name in your graveyard; add those targets to your hand.

This card can help out with Xyz monsters by giving them what they need, those precious Xyz materials. But where this card shines most is in a Thunder deck built around the Hunder family and Thunder Spark Dragon. With this card, and the Hunder monsters ability to swarm the field with three or four monster in a turn, you can get Thunder Spark Dragon to 4 Xyz materials in a turn, helping you get to that all powerful 5 Xyz materials. Those monsters, along with Thunder King Rai-Oh can make for a pretty mean Thunder deck. Even Batterymen can use this, even though the only level 4 Batteryman monster is AAA. When Spirit Converter goes from the field to the graveyard, you can get 2 level 4 Light-Thunder type monsters with the same name from your grave to your hand. A bit restrictive, but not bad. Thunder lovers, this is for you, because this is pretty much Thunder support....and they really needed it.
