Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Inzektor Hornet
#ORCS-EN017

Once per turn: You can equip 1 "Inzektor" monster from your hand or Graveyard to this card. While this card is equipped to a monster, that monster's Level is increased by 3, also it gains ATK and DEF equal to this card's ATK and DEF. While this card is equipped to a monster: You can send this Equip Card to the Graveyard to target 1 card on the field; destroy that target.

Inzektor Hornet is also Restricted, and instead of Special Summoning, this Inzektor lets you target and destroy.  Another great and useful tactic, even with so much destruction roaming around in this Format.  But I prefer to Special Summon, if I were given the choice.  Like yesterday, when equipped to a Monster, that Monster has its Level increased by 3, giving the benefits I referred to yesterday.  It also increases that cards attack and defense (by 500 and 200 respectfully) which seems negligible, but is an increase nonetheless.  Now, it can send itself, while equipped to a card, to target and destroy one card on the Field.  Certainly good, but Dragonfly can use his effect (at least potentially) multiple times, while you only get to use this effect once.  That doesn't make this a bad card, just not as playable via its own effect.

First of all, I would like to make a correction on yesterday’s card as I said Mirror Force was at three and we all know that it is at two. Sorry for the misprint. Now on to today’s card, Inzektor Hornet. Now go back to yesterday’s card to see how to use Inzektor Hornet. I kind of sound like the Old Spice commercial, but you can not talk about Inzektors without talking about Inzektor Hornet as it is the key card that makes Inzektors so powerful.

First use the effects of Inzektor monsters to attach Inzektor Hornet to them. Then use Inzektor hornet’s effect to pop a card your opponent controls for a plus two advantage. Use Inzektor Dragonfly to load the field and Inzektor Centipede to load the hand. It is that easy and why Inzektors were so broken.

Searching for Inzektor Hornet is easy with Sangon. By playing Tour Guide (now limited to two) and searching out Sangon, we could get Hornet. Along with one other Inzektor, we could go crazy on our opponent. Now with Inzektor Hornet at one, all it takes is one D.D. Crow to ruin our day.

One thing that we rarely use with Inzektors is the level changing effect and the attack bonus. OK, so that is two things. An extra 500 attack does not do much but it can help out on rare occasions. The level boost gives us a level 6 monster with can be useful in making Rank 6 Xyz monsters. Being dark monsters, Inzektors could even be used with Effect Vielers and Chaos monsters. As Chaos Sorcerer is a level 6 monster, it would be easy to summon a Rank 6 Xyz monster with Inzektors. Inzektors may have gotten hurt by the Ban list but they are not dead by any means as we saw at YCS Indy with Billy Brake’s deck. And yes, I even proof read this article this time.

Inzektor Hornet is the other half of the Inzektor tag team that knocked down to limited status recently, and rightly so. Teaming this card with Dragonfly got you another Inzektor monster or Centipede to search for one. Working with an Inzektor that is equipped with Giga-Mantis lets you swarm the field fast, a little too fast. I can see why this had to be brought down to one. Again, sorry for the short review, my immune system is working a bit more than usual to fight off this cold.
