All righty, next week Cosmo Blazer is released, so we're going to spend this week and next reviewing cards all of a new Archtype.  Of the Fire Fist, to be specific.  The Fire Fist Deck strikes me to working similarly to a Spellbook Deck.  Both Decks work in combination with Deck specific Magic cards (in the Fire Fist case of Traps too) but both can be incredibly fast and powerful Decks, if played properly.  The Fire Fist Monsters are Beast-Warriors who all do various things, usually Special Summoning another and/or increasing attack and/or defense of similar Monsters of the type or Deck.  The key effect is that they let you add crucial speed to your Deck, by adding a Fire Formation Magic card directly from your Deck to being set on the Field.  Assuming of course you correctly activate and use the effect of the Monster in question.

Continuing along to the actual card, Brotherhood of the Fire Fist, is a Level 3, Fire attributed, Beast-Warrior (and Beast-Warrior and Fire both have crazy amounts of support even outside this Deck) with only 200 attack but a reasonable 1500 defense.  So if Brotherhood is destroyed by Card Effect or by Battle (so long as the current owner is the original owner) and note it doesn't have to even go the Graveyard...you can Set a Fire Formation Magic card from your Deck to the Field.  (You'll be hearing a lot about that over the next two weeks).  Furthermore, while you control a face-up Fire Formation Magic card, all face-up Fire Fist Monsters you control gain 500 attack and defense.  The attack gain here via that effect is still negligible but the 2000 defense is nice.  More than not of these Monsters don't have a great attack, at least in the lower Levels of such.

I really want to put a Deck of this together, because I think it's going to be a lot of fun.  How competitive will it be--time will tell.

Ok, a new new brings us an upcoming new set in a few weeks and we are looking at the very much talked about Brotherhood of the Fire Fist lineup for the next few weeks from Cosmo Blazar. First up to bat is Fire Fist - Hawk. A level 3 FIRE/Beast Warrior, with 200 ATK and 1500 DEF. If this cad is destroyed by your opponent in any way, you can set 1 "Fire Formation" Spell card from your deck to your Spell/Trap card zone. And while you control a face up "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap card, all Fire Fist monsters you control gain 500 ATK and DEF. You can really only net you Fire Formation Tensu or Tenki from your deck when it's destroyed. Tensu is pretty good, but most likely you'll be getting Tenki. once you get that ball rolling, Hawk gets up to a great 2000 DEF and can hold off a lot. Also, being level 3 is good as there are Synchros and Xyz monsters for the Fire Fist Brotherhood. The downsides are Hawk's stats and the fact that we are still in a 3 MST/1 Heavy Storm format, and the spell you get may get wiped out before you can use it. Hawk alone may not mean much, but he is the starting point to get the Fire Fist deck up and running.
