Dark

Paladin

Welcome to Brotherhood Week Part Deux, and we continue and open with Brotherhood of the Fire Fist--Swallow.  This is one of the more interesting Monsters in your Fire Fist arsenal, being Level 5, still a Fire attributed Winged-Beast (surprised?), with 2000 attack and 800 defense.  So Level 5 obviously requires a Tribute, but Swallow has a way to make that easier, allowing himself to be Special Summoned by sending three face-up Fire Formation Magic/Trap cards from your Field to the Graveyard.

That seems to be a little unnecessary.  I mean, I suppose it's a welcome thing that he can help you make room to play other Fire Formation Magic/Trap cards, but it just seems to be a little over the top, and the 2000 attack is low for a Level 5 Monster.  Continuing on, however, Swallow lets you Set a Fire Formation Trap card from your Deck to the Field, when he Normal OR Special Summoned, if you Special Summon him in a way other than his effect, or simply don't feel like ridding the Field of three of your Fire Formation Magic/Trap cards.

You can only use the effect this effect of Swallow once per turn, but for a welcome and added bonus, Swallow protects all your Beast-Warrior type Monsters from being targeted by your opponent's card effects.  Since many of the Fire Formation Magic/Trap cards increase attack and/or add protection of some sort, the 2000 attack isn't as detrimental is it may sound.  Added protection, even against cards that target, is certainly a splendid thing.  Furthermore, being ALL Beast-Warriors, instead of specifically Fire or Fire Fist, is even better.
