Woohoo, its my week now! In this week, we touch upon some meta-impacting cards that we skipped over from Secrets of Eternity and Hero's Strike, and for today's card, we have Qliphort Monolith.

Basically, its the reverse of Qliphort Scout in many ways. It is reverse stat-wise, clocking in at 2400/1000, it is a reverse Pendulum Scale as well, being a scale of 1 to Scout's 9. Being a Normal Pendulum monster, like Scout, it is searchable through Summoner's Art, Scout itself, and Saqlifice.

It's Pendulum effect is where all the fun stuff lies. Like all the rest of the Qliphorts, it blocks special summoning of anything but Qliphorts, so no Xyz's as long as this thing is in a zone(or other things, like Flying "C"). However, during the End Phase, if you tribute summoned this turn, you get to draw cards equal to the amount of Qliphorts you Tributed for said summons. Things to note: if you tribute a monster equipped with Saqlifice, you still only get one draw from that monster, if you tribute your opponents Qliphort that you stole, you still get a draw, and if this card is played after you tributed, you still get to draw.

Overall, a great card for the Qliphort deck(at 1, at most), and is, in many situations, the best scale 1 for Qliphorts, as it is the only one to net you card advantage.

A very good toolbox option.  On the left-Pendulum, you can have a 300 ATK boost by Disk or potential drawpower by Monolith.  Since it has no effect (and sub-2800 ATK) as a monster, people only use 1 of this card because it's searchable by Scout anyway.  Nothing profound but if you can +1 off of Pendulum Summoning with a single Tribute, why not?  Use 1 copy in Qliphorts.

Qli Monsters...Pendulum Monsters...So we have a Pendulum Monster without an effect, short of it's Pendulum effect, I guess a Pendulum Monster without a Monster effect...is that how we distinguish these things?  Qliphort Monolith is a Level 5 Monster, and it's only a Scale 1 on the Pendulum side, which is good and bad.  You might expect a Level 5 (not a HIGH level Monster, but higher) to be higher on the scale.  But I don't think it matters much here.  This adds some great speed to an all ready quick Deck.  It stops you from Special Summoning non-Qli Monsters, but that's not a big issue at all.  Said effect can't be negated, so don't think about that.  During the End Phase (yours) if you Tribute Summoned this turn, you can Draw a number of cards equal to the number of Qli cards you used for said Tribute Summon(s).  Is it a MUST in a Qli Deck...you can get along fine without I think, but it can be beneficial as well.  Just not so sure it's beneficial enough to require being run.
