Daily Since 2002!

Elemental HERO Shadow Mist
- #S
DHS-EN001

If this card is Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Change" Quick-Play Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "HERO" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist". You can only use 1 "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Electric
Soldier

For the third card of the day, moving from Secrets of Eternity to HERO's Strike, we have Elemental Hero Shadow Mist, the only new maindeck hero monster, and possibly the best thing the deck could have asked for.

Its stats are fairly mediocre, clocking in at a measly 1000/1500, but this could be a blessing in disguise, with Crush Card possibly being unbanned soon. It is searchable through many ways, most notably Reinforcement of the Army, A HERO Lives, and E-Emergency Call. Its Dark attribute is very, VERY, important, but I will elaborate upon that in a minute

Its effects are nothing short of fantastic. Being able to grab ANY "Change" Quick-Play Spell upon being Special Summoned is just the thing Mask Change needed to become one of the best cards in the HERO arsenal. Its other effect works directly in conjunction with its first effect, as after Mask Changing Shadow Mist(or detaching, or milling, it doesn't matter, as long as it is sent to the grave), you get to add any HERO from your deck to your hand, aside from itself. This ranges from Elemental HERO's(namely Bubbleman and Neos Alius) to Destiny Hero's(namely Diamond Dude and Malicious). Do take note, however, you can only use one effect of Shadow Mist per turn, so after adding Change, it would be in your best interest to wait until your opponent's turn to activate it.

Being a Dark attribute makes this card's Masked HERO Dark Law's best friend, being essentially a 1 card Dark Law with a Hero being added from deck to hand. The sheer power that Dark Law offers, plus Shadow Mist making him costless, is insane. Also, Masked HERO Anki, coming out in Return of the Bling, is a second Dark Masked HERO, and rounds out the pair nicely, being the beatstick. In terms of Special summoning Shadow Mist, a number of methods do the trick, but the best ones are: Goblindbergh, Summoner Monk, and A HERO Lives. Other methods, such as Tin Goldfish or Call of the Haunted also work.

Overall, a fantastic consistency booster and power play, and has basically redefined the HERO deck to solely revolve around making plays off of Shadow Mist. If Stratos were back, it would be even better, but it it still fantastic the way it is now.

Elemental HERO Shadow Mist

It's a +1 floater for Heroes and can turn into Dark Law with Mask Change.  You search on Special Summon, and then you search when it dies.  It unfortunately wasn't enough to make Heroes top, but it was in part a big boost for the deck nonetheless.

Paladin

Best...looking Hero EVER...Elemental HERO Shadow Mist is a Level 4, Dark attributed, Warrior, with 1000 attack and 1500 defense.  Both, which quite honestly, suck.  But the beauty in this card isn't in attack or defense, it's the effects.  When Special Summoned, you can add a "Change" Quick Play Magic card from your Deck to your Hand.  It does hurt a bit you have to waste a Special Summon to get that effect, but straight up, this card would be TOO good if you could get that via Normal Summon.  Secondly, when sent to the Graveyard, regardless of how, or from where, you can add a HERO Monster from your Deck to your Hand, except this card.  So it replaces itself too.  Both very good effects, although you can only use one effect per turn.  You use three of this in your Hero Deck, regardless of the build or variety.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Elemental HERO Shadow Mist is exactly what the “HERO” deck needed: a close-enough replacement to Stratos. DARK-Attribute helps it alongside Dark Law, Warrior-Type give sit all the standard Warrior support (RoTA, Warrior Returning, E-Call, etc.), and as a “HERO” it gains even more support alongside its archetype.

Shadow Mist adds a “Change” quick-play from your deck when you Special Summon Shadow Mist. At 1000ATK, Mystic Tomato can Special Summon it from the deck, Marauding Captain becomes an option in the deck,  A Hero Lives, Soul Charge, Bubbleman, and  Summoner Monk are some of the many ways you can Special Summon Shadow Mist and get your “Change” Spell from your deck. Shadow Mist can target one of a possible three “Change” spells in your deck. Recruiting that quick-play will set up bigger moves during your turn or during your opponents turn so you can gain Shadow Mist's second effect.

Shadow Mist is a 1-for-1 when it's Special Summoned AND when it hits the graveyard. Any “HERO” is an option, giving you even more options for big moves. Foolish Burial, Armageddon Knight, or any discarding card effect replaces your Shadow Mist with a new “HERO” as well as Xyz with another level 4 and detach Shadow Mist to get its effect. Shadow Mist being sent to the grave may be more useful than it being Special Summoned. Special Summon it during your opponents turn with Call of The Haunted after sending it to the grave the previous turn, then use your “Change” quick-play on your turn and get another “HERO” to your hand.

With 3 RoTA, 3 E-Call available in the current format, there's no way you don't run 3 of Shadow Mist in a “HERO” deck. It searches for you if Special Summoned, searches when it hits the graveyard, the only bad thing is you can't use both effects on the same turn. It is the serious boost the “HERO” deck needed. Not as good as Stratos, but probably as close as they will get without Stratos being brought back.
