Fullmetalfoes Fusion

My immediate thought on seeing this card was to compare it to El Shaddoll Fusion, which followed up Shaddoll Fusion and made the deck peak. But the problem with that comparison is that Shaddolls focused heavily on fusion while Metalfoes fuse when there’s opportunity without messing up your main plays. So while I think that Fullmetalfoes Fusion is a solid card, I think it will appear in most decks as a tech one-of or maybe two-of card much like Metalfoes Fusion and the Metalfoes traps. It enhances the toolbox available to players without taking up too much space.

The main thing going for Fullmetalfoes Fusion, which is also the main thing going for Alkahest, is that you can now do more plays during your opponent’s turn without the opponent being able to do too much about it, which, outside of non-targeting removal, is the holy grail of Yu-Gi-Oh at the moment. And of course, I’d be amiss to talk about Fullmetalfoes Fusion without also talking about Alkahest. They go hand in hand, and I don’t feel you’re fully justified in running the spell without including at least one copy of Alkahest in your extra deck.

It’s unfortunate that this spell doesn’t have a graveyard effect like its counterparts, because it would have been much better. But perhaps, it would have been too strong if that was there. Metalfoes are already peaking and have a ton of support to create different variants of the archetype. I feel like Fullmetalfoes Fusion is a must at 1, but it remains to be seen if it will be critical to its success in tournaments and in the archetype’s future. My outlook on the card is positive.

Fullmetalfoes Fusion...this is a simple card and an equally simple effect, so there isn't a great deal to say here.  First, it's awesome support for a theme.  Second, it's Quickplay, so you can use it offensively or defensively.  Third, being able to use Material for Fusion from the Hand or Field opens this card, and it lets you bring any Metalfoe Fusion, so it's versatile.  If you're playing the Deck, you're likely using three of these.

Rating:  I hate rating Deck specific cards, but the times you Draw this and it won't help probably are very few and far apart in the Deck.  4.5/5

El Shaddoll Fusion is a QuickPlay Spell that let's you Fusion Summon any Shaddoll Fusion Monster by sending materials from your hand or field to the grave. When that card was reviewed twice, it received about a 4. It could win games and trigger Shaddoll effects. It was such a problem that it was limited to 1 per deck. This restriction lasts until now and the foreseeable future even though it already had a once per turn activation limit.

Fast forward to now and we have the exact same effect for Metalfoes decks in Fullmetalfoes Fusion. This can be run at 3 and does not have any restriction of once per turn activations. It is also of course far more searchable within its own deck than El Shaddoll Fusion ever was in any deck. I miss Shaddolls. Fullmetalfoes Fusion should score at least as well El Shaddoll Fusion if not better because the deck is currently relevant and because it doesn't have the restriction of once per turn. Time will tell if this also gets limited.
