Dimension Guardian is a simple Continuous Trap Card that prevents destruction after targeting your face-up Atk position monster. There is no cost, but if the monster leaves the field, the trap is destroyed. So the big thing to note here is that it prevents all destruction. So if a monster is supposed to destroy itself during the End Phase, that won't happen. If you crash into a monster stronger than your own, it won't be destroyed by battle. It's nice and I'm glad it doesn't destroy the monster if Dimension Guardian gets MST'd. Safe Zone is the obvious comparison, but Safe Zone prevents targeting effects as well. Neither stops Kaiju monsters. Dimension Guardian might be the better choice since you can tribute both for True Dracos.

This weeks throwback thursday, we're taking another look at Dimension Guardian from The Darkside of Dimensions.

Dimension Guardian is a continuous trap with a short and sweet effect. By targetting a face-up attack position monster you control, Dimension Guardian prevents that monster from being destroyed by battle or card effect and if that monster leaves the field, Dimension Guardian destroys itself.

It's a good trap, but it hasn't seen much play as there is a lot of non-destruction removal effects in the game right now. Mainly Kaiju. And being a trap card, it's also highly vulnerable on its own.

Dimension Guardian:

For Throwback Thursday, we look back at a card released all the way back in the 2016 Movie Packs, and that is Dimension Guardian. I know this card isn't too old, but it is still worth reviewing as it is a solid card all around.

Dimension Guardian is simply Safe Zone, but sorta better in some cases when you aren't just using it to out your opponent's monster. You can only target your own monsters that are in Attack Position, but that monster cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Obviously, when that monster leaves the field, this goes with it. It is honestly nice protection, but I cannot think of a deck that really needs this. Maybe in the future, there will be a deck that needs a monster so bad, but doesn't have enough built-in protection to save it; however, if there was a deck to come out like that, it likely won't be Tier 1 as they have to play this to protect it. Doesn't make it a bad card, just not useful right now.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Same effects as Safe Zone, you protect a monster from effects and battle, but you can still attack your opponent directly with this card attached to your monster. While Safe Zone prevents this, it does allow you to put Safe Zone on your opponents monster to stop them from attacking directly, Dimension Guardian doesn't do that. It's a Continuous Trap while leaves it vaunerable, but it is still a good card.

Both cards will protect, but if you vaule direct attacking with protection, Dimension Guardian is the card for you over Safe Zone.
