Dark Maltos's Dueling Dome
Maltos’s Friday deck - Sorcerer of Dark Magic

May 5, 2006

What ho guys, how’s things been? Now I know you’re all dieing to see the second part of my Belonging Article, but im afraid that’ll hafta wait, my Friday deck must come first.

Ever since the release of the Yugioh movie, I’ve been toying with the idea of creating a deck with my all time favourite spell caster - the Sorcerer of Dark Magic ,

The Sorcerer of Dark Magic is a powerful , powerful spell caster god with a pretty difficult summoning condition, where you must sacrifice 2 level 6 or higher spell caster monsters in order to special summon him, but once that has happened you get the Horus like ability of negating the activation of trap cards and destroying them , quite impressive considering SoDM boasts an over whelming 3200 attack, certainly enough to do some damage, especially in today’s trap heavy metagame. The only real downside to him is that he cannot be revived and his difficult summoning conditions, but this at least can be easily remedied.

Chaos sorcerer is currently being widely used even outside of spell caster decks for its impressive stats and special ability, allowing for superb monster removal in a great all round card. Coincidently or not, Chaos Sorcerer is also a level 6, meaning its ideal food for the summoning conditions of this decks focal point. This is the best and most obvious choice for the deck, as you barely lose anything for doing the combo that the opponent wont loose with Chaos Sorcerers effect, the only problem is that now the deck must be fixed in order to accommodate him also, but we’ll get to that later.

Dark Magician Girl is another prime candidate, being Dark, Spell caster, and level 6, and with only 2000 attack can be easily brought to the field by Magicians Circle.

For the sake of deck space, im afraid that this deck is limited to those as high level monsters, regretfully so. As far as the deck goes, the Dark Side of the monsters available for Chaos food is more than plentiful, but the light side only have Magician of Faith to benefit them.

Since Apprentice magician can so easily search out these MoF’s, other Light candidates for the deck could really benefit from this as well, that is why I’m going to run these two monsters :

Time Wizard :

This game has always been about chance, and time wizard has always embodied that. His effect is simply amazing if you can pull it off, and if you cant then your down an insignificant amount of life points, and you have another Light in the Grave. Virtually no cost, just use him sensibly.

The unhappy maiden :

Ahhh the infamous forgotten Maiden. This card is getting old, but ironically now it can be more deadly than ever, being an Apprentice Candidate and Light, as well as a beautiful battle phase ender, very nice indeed.

Mythical Beast Cerberus :

This is a very experimental monster to say the least, but perhaps it could find some use in this deck, who knows? The main thing about it is that its light, and potentially very powerful.

Since the deck is focused on level 6 spell casters, there isn’t much point running magical dimension, as there is no direct benefit, however Magicians circle is a must.

So without further ado, lets bring on the deck :

Sorcerer of Dark Magic (x2)

Chaos Sorcerer (x3)
Dark Magician Girl (x3)

Apprentice Magician (x2)
Breaker the Magical Warrior
Magician of Faith(x2)
Time Wizard
The unhappy Maiden(x2)
Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer (x2)
Tsukuyomi

Spells ;

Graceful Charity
Pre mature burial
Heavy Storm
Mystical Space Typhoon
Snatch Steal
Nobleman of Crossout(x2)
Swords of Revealing Light
Scapegoat
Book of Moon
Brain Control (x2)
Lightning Vortex

Traps ;

Magicians Circle (x3)
Call of the Haunted
Mirror Force
Torrential Tribute
Sakurtsu Armour

Well that’s it for now. Not a bad deck, not a spectacular one either, still there are some nice combo’s and its pretty solid in my opinion, especially since the deck is pure monster wise.

Any thoughts or comments, send em to Toddyhole@aol.com , as always. Which reminds me, I forgot to put in a Cad of Safe return in my dark world deck last week. Thanks to all those who spotted that, it helped.

Have a good one guys
