Dark Maltos's Dueling Dome
Maltos’s Friday deck
What the hell have I gotten myself into?

June 09, 2006

Before I go into the main focus of this deck , I want to thank you. Thank you all for saying those kind, kind things that you did. My piercing punishment deck was quite the hit it would seem, someone even won a tourney with it, right on.

Well guys, I’d like to think that I bring a few original ideas to the table , especially when it comes to deck, but I really have bitten off more than I can chew on this one. Over the past few YEARS, never mind months, I’ve been reading about the constant war between CC and originality, and particularly about how E heroes are being mass produced to suit a more child based audience. To be honest, I was fronting both campaigns, but now I have decided to bite my tongue and go for it, proving that originality rocks, and hopefully….god forbid….actually find a use for these E heroes. This deserves a special shout out to my pal C.Y. who prefers his dark world, but demonstrated how cool E heroes can be. This is gonna be a hell of a large article, there’s just that much support !! I’m getting in over my head here, I can just tell.

The elemental heroes, on paper are a great idea. They are actually a decent attempt at bringing back fusion, uniting all elements together, and generally making the game a bit more fun by packing powerful effects into situational cards. The problem with them is that they are taking up more and more space in newly released sets , filling them with situational cards like Spark Blaster and Bubble shuffle, granted that are powerful, but are just not going to happen.

Luckily enough, in amongst all the rough , there are a few diamonds, and in this deck I will hopefully try to resurrect (well I say resurrect, but really it was never really there) fusion with a little help from the E heroes.

Fusions ;

The E heroes posses the widest variety of fusions ever in the game of Yugioh, with each one being intertwined with each other, and the ability to fuse I think ANY E hero with another, and if they can’t do that yet, eventually they will . You can’t mention the E heroes without mentioning their fusions, as that is the greatest support that they have going for them. Most players don’t like a 3 card investment, but hopefully this deck will help that along.

Elemental Hero Flame Wingman :

Ahhh the old cliché, 1 of 2 variations of this fusion. Avian + Bustinatrix + a 2100 attacker that basically attack directly when it destroys a monster in battle, not bad since it can contend with Cyber Dragon.

Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer ;

The same fusion material monsters, very different effect. At 2100 attack, not much will destroy Phoenix enforcer in battle, so the effect is slightly less useful here, so more often than not you’d be better sticking to Wingman.

Elemental Hero Mariner

A 1400 lp attacking monster. Considerably weak stats make this little guy barely worth the effort, but with the right support he could be handy. The key thing to remember is that you never know when you need whatever effect, all part of the E hero’s diversity.

Elemental Hero Rampant Blaster :

Now this is a superior monster. Able to attack directly, for granted less attack, but with an amazing base stats, and the safety net effect of attacking whilst in defense. A whopping 2500 defense outmatches every commonly played monster today, making a handy little wall and is virtually a combination of the above 2 fusions.

Elemental Hero Wild Wingman

A fairly effective monster, with respectable stats, and the nice ability of making everything in your hand a Mystical space typhoon.

Elemental hero Steam Healer ;

Another pretty decent effect, allowing for a sweet bit of lp gain, with granted slightly low, but at least respectable stats.

Elemental Hero Necroid shaman ;

Ok, this one I don’t like. The effect is pretty dumb, best case scenario, nailing one of their monsters that poses a threat, and giving them an attack mode spirit Reaper for some damage.

Elemental Hero Thunder Giant ;

This is definitely one of the more powerful E heroes, with an effect somewhat similar, but all the more power to Armed Dragon level 5, by discarding to destroy a monster with less attack than good o’l thunder giant. And with 2400 base, that doesn’t eliminate much.

Elemental hero Wild Edge :

This thing hits hard, definitely the heavy hitter of the group, with potential to obliterate 5 monsters in one turn, how’s that for a comeback?

Elemental hero Tempest ;

Very high attack, and great potential to pass on the Phoenix enforcer effect on to anyone else, pretty sweet.

Elemental Hero Shinning Flare Wingman :

My favourite E hero, with a sweet effect and attack boost. This could deal some deadly damage in the right hands, and is the main game ender in the group. A 4 card, well 5 card (2 fusion) investment, but awesome otherwise.

Elemental Hero Shinning Phoenix Enforcer :

The same attack boost , but this time with the effect of Phoenix enforcer. Not gonna be worth the effort, as nothing can surpass its attack.

So, that’s the fusions out of the way. Lets look at the E hero’s themselves :

Elemental Hero Avian :

Along with Bustinatrix, the main fuser of the group. Weak stats make him otherwise Abysmal.

Elemental hero Bustinatrix ;

Slightly more bearable attack I suppose, but she’s still bad.

Elemental hero Clayman ;

Decent stats for a change, shame about the picture.

Elemental Hero Sparkman :

Gorgeous picture on both account, also possessing the high level 4 attack of them all, at 1600.

Elemental hero bubble man :

The top deck’s dream, but otherwise fairly weak. Don NOT use Neo bubble man either. They may both look like batman, but only one of them is as good as anything he’s ever said , done or came in contact with.

Elemental Hero Necroshade

Decent stats until you realise he’s a level 5. Ok effect also , meant for easing the cost of Blade edge and the upcoming Neos.

Elemental hero Blade edge ;

The most powerful E hero at 2600, with a cool piercing effect. Hard to summon, but it packs a punch.

Elemental hero Wild heart ;

He’s the man !!! Cool stats and an effect making him worthy of spot in many decks. Complete and utter obliviation from trap cards, you’ve got to love him.

Also, other worthwhile mentions should go to :

Wroughtweiler

Avery handy monster whom I love for some reason.

King of the Swamp ;

A great fusion sub that also doubles for a Polymerization searcher.

Spells :

In the last set in particular, the E hero’s received a lot of support in the form of spells. Let me spell it out for you ;

H Heated Heart :

Not specifically for E heroes, and not worth inclusion in the deck, although granted it is powerful for the one turn it is used.

E Emergency call ;

The perfect searcher, making this the card making E hero fusions far easier to do than any other.

R Righteous Justice

Very powerful, essentially the potential to be a harpies feather duster, and pretty sweet overall.

O Over soul ;

The coolest word ever just got a pretty decent effect, especially after the release of Neos. A free monster reborn for normal E hero’s , helping the whole fusion problem considerably.

HERO Flash ;

See my card of the day. Situational, and overall weak, not going to be included in this deck as neither is heated heart, and it will suffer from bad top decks already anyway.

Skyscaper :

E hero salvation. Now, during your turn, the threat of higher attack opposing monsters is eliminated with this significant booster card that enables Wild heart to cripple Mobius and Bustinatrix to nail Cyber Dragon. Staple here.

Miracle fusion ;

The best support E hero fusions ever got, this enables fusions from the field AND grave, making the entire process that much easier.

Everything else is bad. Bubble illusion, Bubble shuffle, Bubble blaster, Feather Shot , Spark blaster, Cyclone boomerang, Bust return and Hero heart are all either weak or situational (in most cases both) and will not be included in this deck for obvious reasons (all though I must say that Burstinatrix is looking hot in Burst return, almost makes them worth using until you look at the crazy bubble man support…what were they thinking?)

Asides from the specific support, the E heros also have a couple of other cards on their side ;

Dark Factory of Mass production :

Since most are normal monster, this eases the fusion aspect greatly.

Reinforcements of the Army ;

Since they are all Warrior, with most being level 4 or lower, this adds another 2 Emergency calls essentially, speeding up the fusions further.

Polymerization ;

Most players don’t tend to go the Polymerization route, but I think it’s essential, especially considering how effective Wroughtweiler can be. I’m opting out of fusion gate, as I feel that Skyscraper is more essential.

The Warrior Returning Alive ;

Another speedy way to help the fusion effect.

Terrraforming ;

Helps get that much needed Skyscraper, speeding up the deck further.

Fusion Recovery ;

Powerful stuff in the right hands, filling up the hand and reviving Polymerization.

Branch ;

Doesn’t interfere with Skyscraper like Centrifugal field, and effective in this deck particularly.

Trap wise, the E heroes have been given moderate, substantial support.

Hero signal :

More speed support, that I guess will help the deck greatly.

Elemental Recharge ;

A deck like this can take it out of you, perhaps this could find some use.

Other cards E hero themed are less effective than existing cards, and dependant on a specific E Hero being there, not worth it.

So that’s it, lets try and squeeze all of that is shall we :

So there you have it, we did it. An E hero deck, with all the garbage cut out. Possibly the most effective one I could ever make, and even then I had to put a lot of staple stuff in the side deck. I’m not sure that this deck will ever be tier one, it looks as though it’s lacking in a lot of key areas, but as it stands, this looks like a hell of a deck for casual.

Keep your responses coming in, I’m really grateful for them, its great to know that you are appreciated. As always, have a good one guys.
