Dark Maltos's Dueling Dome
The Dark Dragon

March 6, 2006

Greetings one and all, and welcome back to the dueling Dome. Today I will present the essentials of Constructing the final of the 3 character monster decks, (Blue eyes, Dark Magician and Red Eyes. ) by attempting to create a playable Red Eyes black dragon deck, a feat some may consider slightly crazy, but let me tell you, it’s a thought worthy concept.

Red Eyes Black Dragon

Everyone loves Red Eyes, most in fact more than its big bro , Blue Eyes. He has sweet art, and is the trademark of Joey. Back in the day, this card was REALLY sought after, especially by yours truly. Unfortunately, it would seem that Red Eyes would be forced to sit on the shelf as, despite its awesome design, for a level 7, red eyes was considerably weak, barely scratching level 6 monster. Still, in this deck it’s the focal point, and it has since received much more support for us to exploit.

Red Eyes Darkness Dragon

The best art, almost ever in my opinion. A situational card to say the least, but an enormous boost if you can pull it off. Unfortunately, this deck wont really too heavily on the Dragon type , so it would be practically useless here.

Red Eyes Black Chick

The best card in the deck, singularly making Red Eyes a level 4 at the cost of a card from your hand. This is where the abuse can begin. I’ll show you later.

Inferno Fire Blast

It’s a rare occasion a Nomi Spell is created, let alone used but in this case I think it may pay off. Although Duelists are under the impression that lp are meaningless this is just a card to show them how that wont always work out. This can always deal 2400 damage, which is hefty to say the least.

With those cards to base this off, we can continue to create a worthy deck.

Normally, when constructing a deck such as this, a player would almost automatically run Masked dragon to get the Red Eyes chick out. Not a bad theory, but what it’s neglecting to abuse is the other element of this particular card - it’s a Dark Type.

Tomato control is currently one of the most highly rated deck types currently being used by players today. Using such 1 for 1’s as Newdoria to obtain advantage as well as field presence, also abusing Don Zaloog and Spirit Reaper for the control aspect. . Since this is also a dragon deck, we can add Lord of D to use with the tomatoes. By combining this genre with a successful and clever theme, we hope to achieve similar results, and at the same time have fun.

So here’ the Deck :

Monsters 20

Red Eyes Black Dragon (x3)
Red Eyes Black Chick (x3)
Mystic Tomato (x3)
Don Zaloog (x2)
Spirit Reaper (x2)
Lord Of D.
Newdoria(x2
Cyber Jar
Sangan
Breaker the Magical Warrior
DD Warrior Lady

Spells : 15

Inferno Fire Blast (x2)
Scapegoat
Dark Hole
Snatch Steal
Nobleman of Crossout
Premature burial
Mystical Space typhoon
Heavy Storm
Smashing Ground (x2)
Swords of Revealing light
Brain Control
Pot of Avarice
Giant Trunade

Traps (5)

Call of the Haunted
Torrential Tribute
Sakurtsu Armour
Dust Tornado (x2)
Waboku

Now , im not expert with this style of deck, so by all means do as you please with it, but overall I think it may work quite well. Fell free to tinker, and I want to know your results. The main idea of it is to use the tomatoes whenever possible to search out the most useful card at that time. Pot of Avarice is also a must, as it allows for this to be done over and over again. Brain control is a good card to use, to perhaps slightly lessen the cost of tributing, and Waboku overall is a good, and also quite necessary cards.

That’s all folks, Have a good one , next up - Ojama’s
