Dark Paladin's Yu-Gi-Oh! Dimension
Episode III: Revenge of the Moto

3.28.05

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all!

First, I hope my last article wasn't too ridiculous, and I'd like to thank Pook for letting me expand on his idea.

Secondly, I'm not building a deck until my next article, so don't expect one here.

Finally, I come to the point of this article. I don't know about any of you, but I am a HUGE Star Wars fan and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is due to hit theaters in only 57 days and I'm definitely counting them down.

Today, I'm going to compare some ideas that both Star Wars and Yugioh hold true.
For anyone who IS a Star Wars fan, you may have an easier time understanding where some of this comes from.

I've entitled this "Yugioh Episode III: Revenge of the Moto" (Aren't I clever?)

Anyway...

As you may or not be aware, Episode III of Star Wars heavily focuses on the complete turning of the "Chosen One" Anakin Skywalked into the evil mechanical menace known as Darth Vader *insert labored mechanical breathing*

Now, this has absolutely NOTHING to do with Yugioh, right? Wrong! Remember in Fate of the Pharoh Part 2 when Yami was so desperate to win his duel against Raphael that he played The Seal of Orichalcos? He let his lust for power overpower him, and he even went against poor little Yugi just to win...just for power. He greed, anger, jealousy consumed him.

Our hero Yami lets the darkness inside of him take over. He lets down the world and most importantly loses the soul of Yugi. Exactly the same happens to Anakin. He lusts to become the most powerful, the best, the one in power regardless of the cost. When offered the power by the Dark Side, he accepts to become better. Also, he goes against Obi-Wan Kenobi and the rest of the Council just to satisfy his needs, just how Yami did.

Also, Yami and Anakin are both "Chosen Ones." Yami is the Pharaoh who is the chosen DUELIST, the King of games, the one who will save the world. Anakin is the chosen JEDI, the King of the Force, so to speak, and was SUPPOSED to be the one who brought balance back to the force.

The point I'm getting at is that Yami and Anakin both essentially sacrifice their inner-selves (not a word?) just for power. They end up losing those closest to them. Yami loses Yugi, and Darth Vader eventually murders Obi-Wan in Star Wars (remember?)

So in short, you're evil passions will be your undoing, sooner or later. Notice how EVERYONE on this season of the anime who plays the Seal of Orichalcos LOSES their duel (with the exception of Joey vs. Mai since Mai actually wins.) Even Dartz, it's a sign.

I promise, I'm done doing these humor articles for a while, and will return to more serious things next week. I hope you enjoyed these :)

I'm either going to build a Fire deck or a Spirit deck (minus Yata) Please contact me and tell me which one you'd like to see.

Also, starting today until NEXT Tuesday, please submit your ORIGINAL and creative decks. NO CHAOS ALLOWED, sorry. Also, no Zombies, or Warriors. I want to see something seldom played and original. The winner will have his/her deck posted in my next article. Leave your name so I know who to give credit to.

Until then, feel free to contact me with anything at tsearcy@lssu.edu

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

~Dark Paladin~
