Dark Paladin's Yu-Gi-Oh! Dimension
Finalists Round 1 of
Dark Paladin's Create a Card Contest

2.24.06

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all! Before I start with today's results, I must admit I made a mistake in my article about the upcoming Ban List. I wanted Cyber Dragon to be semi-restricted, not restricted. My reasoning: Cyber Dragon at 2 limits his power, but doesn't kill the deck for those who actually play it. Also, short of Cyber Stien, with only 1 Cyber Dragon, you couldn't play Cyber End Dragon.

Now, here are the 10 finalists of Round 1. Keep full well in mind these are in NO particular order.

FINALISTS:

1) Flame Sorcerer
Level 7
2800 atk. 2000 def.
Light/Spellcaster/Effect

Effect: When this card destroys an opponents monster as a result of battle, add one Magic card from your graveyard to your hand.

2) Faith--Normal Magic card

Effect: Pay 1000 Life Points. choose 5 cards from your graveyard and place them face-down in front of your opponent. Your oppo nent chooses 1 card, turning it face-up, for you to add to your hand, and 2 other cards, turning them face-up, to be removed from play. The remaining 2 cards are placed face-up on top of your graveyard.

3) Rapid Blast Sorcerer
Level 7
Fire - Spellcaster - Fusion
ATK 2800 DEF 1900

Fusion: Rapid Fire Magician + Blast Magician

Effect: This card can only be special summoned by fusion summon.
This card can only be fusion summoned with the above fusion material monsters. Whenever a Spell card is activated, add 1 spell coun ter to this card. During your Main Phase, remove 1 spell counter to activate one of the following effects:

1. Send 2 cards randomly from your opponent's hand and send them to the graveyard.
2. Destroy 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field.
3. Inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points for each Spell card in you graveyard.

4) Master Magician of the Sonic Storm
spellcaster-effect-dark-Lv.8
Atk-2800 Def-2200

When this card attacks an opponent's monster, the effects of all face-down cards on your opponents field are negated if they would be activated. When ever this card destroys a Level 8 monster or above, put 1 spell counter on this card. Remove three spell counters from this card to increase your life points by 1500 points. This card's Atk is decreased by 400 points when battleing a monster whose Lv is 3 or less.

5) Twilight Magician
Level 8
Spellcaster/Light
2900/2500

Effect:

This card can only be special summoned by removing two light monsters in your graveyard for play. When this mons ter attacks, change the battle position of one monster on the field. Negate the effects of all spell cards that target a spellcaster monster. When this card destroys a monster in battle, inflict damage to your opponents life points equal to that destroyed monster's level x400.

6) Phoenix Mage of Destruction
Fire
8 Stars
3400/ATK 3400/DEF

[Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect]

Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys + Dark Magician of Chaos

A Fusion Summon of this card can only be conducted with the above Fusion Material Monsters. Once during each of your turns, you may activate one of the following effects.

You may pay any amount of Life Points up to 4000 to deal damage to your opponent equal to the amount of paid Life Points.

You may change the Battle Positions of all Monsters on your opponents side of the field to Attack Position. If face down monsters are changed to Attack Position, flip them up immediately. Flip effects are negated.
For each Flip-Effect negated, inflict 1000 points of damage to both you and your opponent. If this effect is used, your opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap cards during the battle phase.

You may Remove From Play all cards on the field and in both players hands except for this card. If you activate this effect, this card cannot attack.

7) Law of the Equivalent Exchange--Normal Magic

Your opponent randomly selects one card from your hand and discards it.
Then, you may take one card of the same type from your Graveyard and add it to your hand (including the selection.) If it's a trap, destroy one trap on the field. If it's a Magic, destroy one Magic on the field.
If it's a monster, destroy one monster on the field.

8) Magician's Toolbox--Continuous Magic

This card can only be activated while there is a face-up Spellcaster type monster on your side of the field. Once per turn you may add one Normal Spell card from your deck to your hand. If there are no face-up Spellcaster type monsters on your side of the field, destroy this card at the end phase of your turn.

9) Mad Scientist Kozaky

8 DARK/Spellcaster/Fusion 300/300

"Magical Scientist" + "Kozaky"

Pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon 1 level 6 or lower Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck in face-up Attack or Defense Position.
That Fusion Monster cannot attack your opponent?s Life Points directly, and is sent to the graveyard at the end of the turn. This card gains 1000 attack points for every fusion monster in your graveyard.

10) MAGICIAN???S LAST HOPE
Trap- Equipment Trap

This card can only be activated if your Life Points are 1500 or less.
Select 1 Spellcaster-type Monster Card from your Graveyard, Special Summon it on the field in face-up Attack or face-up Defense Position, and equip it with this card. Increase the selected monsters Attack and Defense by 500. Also, as long as the selected monster is the only monster card on your side of the field, that monster is unaffected by any of your opponents trap cards. When this card or the selected monster is destroyed by a card effect, you can pay 800 Life Points to return the selected monster to your hand.

Well, those are the ten finalists. Now, before we continue, I must give a HUGE thank you to The Dungeon Master for his help. Without him, I may not have been able to finish this any time soon and it was real nice to have another opinion on these cards. Now, the rules for this round.

1) Anyone may vote for any card. Yes, this means that even YOU can vote for YOUR OWN CARD.

2) Each person is only allowed ONE VOTE. Please, please, PLEASE keep in mind that ONE MEANS ONE. Any additional votes will have your original vote being withdrawn.

3) If one of your cards was selected as a top 10 round 1 finalists, you MUST submit a picute. You must also make the drawing/design yourself. Do it by hand, use photoshop, I don't care, but a picture is now required. IF YOU ALL READY SENT A PICTURE IN, YOU DO NOT NEED ANOTHER.

4) Voting begins from when this article is posted, until 12:00 am midnite on Wednesday March 1st (Eastern Standard Time.) Any votes after that will NOT BE TALLIED.

5) Please vote, and I hope everyone continues to have fun with this.

Now, finally, we go to prizes. The winner will get to receive (via
mail) one Ultra Rare card from my Yugioh card folder of his/her choice.

Second prize will receive one Super Rare card, from the aforementioned card folder.

Third prize will receive two Rare cards from the said folder.

That does it for today, and please feel free to contact me @ tsearcy@lssu.edu with anything. YES, I do take deck lists, and I am happy to help with them, for those of you who continue to ask me about such things.

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

~Dark Paladin~
