Dark Paladin's Yu-Gi-Oh! Dimension
The State of the Current Metagame
Part V--Tech Help
3.27.06

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all! Today I'm continuing my series of articles talking about the Metagame by discussing some tech or cards you could try to use as tech to counter things in the Metagame.

As I've all ready stated, 7 Tools of the Bandit, Magic Jammer, and DD Survivor are three cards that you may find extremely helpful in countering certain threats, whether it be a trap, magic, or DD monster, respectively. (Check my previous two articles for the detailed
explanations.)

Now, let's discuss some other cards you may find helpful in your deck or side-deck. Consider trying a copy of Divine Wrath, remember that trap? Yes, I'm telling you to run a Trap with a discard, an automatic -1. However, recall that Divine Wrath negates the effect of any effect monster and destroys it. How is that not handy, and you know that your opponent is packing plenty of non-vanilla monsters.

Also, people are still whining about lack of draw, even though we have Pot of Avarice now, and Graceful Charity will be back shortly. Try running a copy or two of Jar of Greed. This started to surface during the last cycle a little, but not much. It's a 1 for 1 at least.

Also, use of Elemental searchers or searchers in general are on the rise. Giant Rat, Mystic Tomato, Pyramid Turtle, all monsters that can search for far too many monsters. Spirit Reaper is still annoying as ever. To get rid of Spirit Reaper, try maining a Lightning Vortex, or even an equip or two you're willing to give up to destroy it.

Well, that's it for today, and I'll expand on this later, sorry I didn't give more help, but I'm a bit pressed for time currently.
However, I do have some good news. For any high school or college students interested in contacting me elsewhere, feel free to add me on Facebook. Just do a search for Alex Searcy, I go to Lake Superior State University, and give me an add. Just have a message attached stating you saw this here so I know I'm not adding complete strangers.

Also, I'm still willing to help with anything, so also feel free to e-mail me @ tsearcy@lssu.edu

Until next time, You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

~Dark Paladin~
