When They Hit People, They Stay Hit

Yup, the theme of today's article is to rip off Magic. Yay! Anyway, the purpose of this article is to bring to everyone's attention the possibility that Volcanic decks have in the current game. They have steady ATK, decent support and can be combined with Monarchs and a host of other cards to become consistent and rather explosive. So why hasn't anyone done this with the Volcanic deck?

The answer is of course that people have tried, but they have not REALLY tried. Half-hearted attempts by some players to bring theme cards to the table with the deck are not going to win you a game, let alone a tournament. The thing with Volcanics is that they have a lot of support, too much for what they are trying to do. In this, they are a little like E-Heroes. They both have way too much stuff that you want to throw into the deck.

The best stuff for the Volcanic deck is easy to see. Volcanic Shell, Rocket, Slicer, Scattershot and Counter are the best monsters. Unfortunately, they only have one good spell, which is Blaze Accelerator. We could make an argument for Tri-Blaze Accelerator, but I do not personally like it. Besides these cards we have synergetic cards that work well with the theme. Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, Royal Firestorm Guards and Pot of Avarice make it easy to abuse the free cards that Volcanics can give you.

So without further ado, I introduce you to Vulcan's Hammer

Hmm, now could this deck possibly begin to even compete with powerhouses like Lightsworn Gladiators and Random Dark Deck? The answer is that it just won't die! The goal of the deck is keep your opponent's monsters off of the field for as long as possible while your Rockets, Slicers and Monarchs beat down. Since these cards have generally paid for their cost already, then you lose almost nothing to removal traps and spells.

The Magical Merchant idea came to me when I was thinking about a new Magical Merchant Turbo deck. That deck kinda fell through, but the idea of using Magical Merchant to sift through your deck stuck with me. As you are packing Pot of Avarice and Transmigration Prophecy, losing the monsters is not a big issue. Royal Firestorm Guards is great as well.

This is a short article today, but enjoy it nonetheless.

You can always reach me at raptor1k@hotmail.com for anything Yu-Gi-Oh! related, but put YGO in the title or I might miss it.

Thanx for reading!
