4KIDS TV LAUNCHES ACTION-PACKED ANIMÉ TELEVISION SERIES

YU-GI-OH! CAPSULE MONSTERS

Premieres Saturday morning, September 9, 2006 on 4Kids TV™

(Fox affiliates nationwide)

NEW YORK, N.Y. (September 9, 2006) – The ultimate battle begins as Yugi and his friends Tea, Tristen and Joey must fight for survival on the new television series Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters, premiering Saturday morning, September 9th on 4Kids TV (Fox affiliates nationwide). Created in Japan, the action-packed, 12-episode series expands on the overwhelming international success of Yu-Gi-Oh! with an all-new series that follows the exciting adventures of high-school freshmen Yugi and his three friends who are mysteriously transported into the strange world of Capsule Monsters.

When Joey wins an exotic trip for four, Yugi and his friends embark on a much-needed vacation…or so they think! Before reaching their destination, their trip takes a dramatic turn as their plane crashes in a deserted forest where they meet Dr. Alex Brisbane, an archeologist who has made an astonishing discovery — a portal to another dimension! The group is magically transported through the portal into the world of the Capsule Monsters, a dangerous other realm inhabited by ancient creatures. Lost in a mystical labyrinth, Yugi and his friends must work together to complete a series of trials in order to find the passage back home. Yugi trades in his Duel Disk for a Capsule Shooter in life-threatening challenges that are more than just a game!

“We are thrilled to be launching Capsule Monsters on 4Kids TV as it marks the first time a Yu-Gi-Oh! series will be added to our line-up,” said Alfred R. Kahn, Chairman and CEO of 4Kids Entertainment.  “With its unique concept, extraordinary story-lines and all-new battles, Capsule Monsters will take the Yu-Gi-Oh! phenomenon to a whole new exciting level….and realm.”
