KONAMI DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT, INC. GOES LIVE WITH GLOBAL RANKING SYSTEM FOR THE Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME

New COSSY System Enables Duelists All Over the World To See Where They Rate Against Peers

El Segundo, CA  (January 19, 2010) – Every Duelist wants to know how they measure up against the best in the world – now they’ll know as quickly as their Internet connection will allow.  Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KDE) today announced that their new Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) global online Duelist rankings system COSSY (Konami Card Game Official Tournament Support System) is now live.

There are now no boundaries with the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG as it is truly a global game with COSSY.  Players can register at premier events throughout the year, such as Regional Championships, Continental Championships, SHONEN JUMP Championships and the World Championship, or at Official Tournament Stores to receive their COSSY Identification. A complete list of tournament events can be found at www.yugioh-card.com/en/events.

Players will notice two tabs on the Ranking screen: Preliminary and Verified. Preliminary Rankings are a running total of all results that have been input to date and show how Duelists stack up against each other using the results that have been input so far. Because the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is a global game with millions of players there may be delays in importing results. That’s where the Verified Rankings come in. When KDE confirms that all results have been input up to a certain time, the rankings become officially verified, showing Duelists where they officially rate against their peers.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s animated series can be seen in the United States Monday through Saturday on Cartoon Network.  The original Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series can be seen Saturday mornings on TheCW4Kids block. For more information on Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., and the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME please visit www.yugioh-card.com or call 310-220-8630.
