KONAMI DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT, INC CHOOSES THE GARDEN STATE AS THE SITE OF ITS MILESTONE MARKING THE 75TH Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME SHONEN JUMP CHAMPIONSHIP  

Thousands of players from around the world to attend premier Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME event 

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – April 12 2010 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KDE) will bring its Guinness World Record best-selling Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) to the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center on April 24-25 for its next SHONEN JUMP Championship.  The event in New Jersey will mark the 75th SHONEN JUMP Championship since the arrival of the global phenomenon Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG in the U.S. in 2002.  Almost 35,000 competitors have experienced the friendship and competition at the SHONEN JUMP Championships over the years.

Duelists participating in KDE’s New Jersey SHONEN JUMP Championship will receive five Absolute Powerforce booster packs and an event-exclusive 75th SHONEN JUMP Championship Game Mat upon paid registration fee of $20.00. The top eight finalists from the SHONEN JUMP Championship will receive the highly sought-after Dark End Dragon SHONEN JUMP Championship Prize Card, as will two other finalists from bonus events held on Sunday.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME has sold more than 22 billion cards worldwide and the SHONEN JUMP Championships are some of the most celebrated events that KDE holds each year. Those who cannot make this SHONEN JUMP Championship will be able to follow round-by-round coverage online at www.yugioh-card.com/en/events

75th SHONEN JUMP Championship New Jersey details (97 Sunfield Avenue, Edison, NJ 08837):  The New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center SHONEN JUMP Championship will start promptly at 8:00 a.m. on April 24 for registration with Round One beginning at 10:00 a.m.  There will also be an opportunity to pre-register for the event on April 23 from 1 – 7 p.m. The top 16 finalists for the SHONEN JUMP Championship, along with the top Duelists of the Sunday Regional Qualifiers, earn invites to participate in their respective countries’ 2010 National Championships.

 The landmark 75th SHONEN JUMP Championship will offer exciting Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG side events for both Saturday and Sunday which include Win-A-Mat tournaments, Pegasus League: Deck Challenge events, and ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD! for all ages, plus Dragon Duel tournaments for Duelists aged 12 and under.   There will also be 2010 Regional Qualifier tournaments on Sunday. KDE will also host a new Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Tin Challenge where the winners will have a play-off for a chance to win a Dark End Dragon card.

Additionally, the top 32 players will receive an invite to participate in the U.S. National Championship as well as a one-year subscription to SHONEN JUMP magazine.

Video game players take note, KDE is also hosting a tournament for the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s World Championship 2010 Reverse of Arcadia.  This should whet the appetites of those players that are competing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Video Game National Championship!  The company will be giving the top Duelists the choice of their favorite video games released by KDE!

One way for attendees to memorialize their visit to the 75th SHONEN JUMP Championship is to pose with the large-sized Stardust Dragon statue or to test their skills in the various Yu-Gi-Oh! related video games such as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s World Championship 2010 Reverse of Arcadia.  Duelists new to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG can get their game up-to-speed with help from a hands-on demo of the wildly-popular Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s DUEL TERMINAL. These arcade-style video game machines can play and teach the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, and dispense unique cards to players.
