Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES Returns to Texas

for the First Major American Event of the Season

El Segundo, CA (September 30, 2014) – Duelists will descend upon the Lone Star State in droves to attend the premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) event, presented by Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI).  The Arlington Convention Center will be packed to capacity with hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Duelists from October 4^th – 5^th; competing in the game made famous by the Yu-Gi-Oh! TV animated series. The first place winner will receive an Ultra Rare version of the latest prize card: Ascension Sky Dragon – only the second time this card has been available to Duelists in North America!

Wanting to be a part of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG lore, expert Duelists as well as first-time players will gather in Texas for their shot at glory and prizes. Duelists will put their practice and Deck-building skills up against the best the game has to offer for the chance to advance to the final round on Sunday and the opportunity to Duel for the title of YCS Champion.

With the new Forbidden and Limited list taking effect on October 1^st, YCS Dallas will be a testing ground of sorts for Duelists to unveil brand new strategies and Decks. Duelists will pay extra attention to see how diverse the game has become and what Decks prove worthy.

Pre-registration for YCS Dallas will run from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3^rd and registration will continue promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4^th.  Upon registering, Duelists will receive five Duelist Alliance booster packs for participating in KONAMI’s YCS Dallas.  Round One will start at 10:00 a.m. and the top ranked YCS finishers will earn invitations to participate in the 2015 World Championship Qualifier. Players will use their constructed Decks to Top 16, then the Top 16 Duelists will draft cards from the recently launched Battle Pack 3: Monster League and will use Decks built solely from this product to compete for the Championship.

Accompanying the Main Event, KONAMI will be conducting Dragon Duels (for Duelists born in 2002 or later). The top four finishers in the Dragon Duel events will receive winners’ medals, a Dragon Duel T-Shirt, and a 2015 Regional Game Mat. Top-ranked finishers will also win an invitation to the 2015 Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier. The victors from Saturday and Sunday will face off in a head-to-head playoff matchup to determine the weekend’s overall winner and the chance to hoist the Dragon Duel Champion’s trophy!

Additionally, a full range of Public Events such as Regional Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, Battle Pack, and Battle City Tournaments will be held through the weekend.

The Main Event winner, the two runners-up and winners of Sunday’s two Public Event playoffs will each be awarded a YCS prize card.  The Main Event winner will take home an Ultra Rare version of the Ascension Sky Dragon prize card, with the other winners bringing home Super Rare versions.  Additionally, the top ranked Duelists will win a Top Cut Game Mat for this event, that matches the artwork of the Ascension Sky Dragon card.

Prizing Information:

•      1^st place – Ultra Rare Ascension Sky Dragon YCS Prize Card; Trophy; Paid travel to their World Championship Qualifier (if underage, then winner and guardian); YCS Top Cut Game Mat; PlayStation®4 system; and an invite to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier tournament

•      2^nd place – Super Rare Ascension Sky Dragon YCS Prize Card; 32 GB Tablet PC; YCS Top Cut Game Mat; and an invite to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier

•      3^rd place – Super Rare Ascension Sky Dragon YCS Prize Card; Xbox One console; YCS Top Cut Game Mat; and an invite to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier

•      4^th place – Xbox One console; YCS Top Cut Game Mat; and an invite to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier

•      5^th – 8^th place – Xbox 360 console; YCS Top Cut Game Mat and an invite to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier

•      9^th – 16^th place – 24 booster packs of Duelist Alliance; YCS Top Cut Game Mat; and an invite to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier

If attendance exceeds 513 Duelists:

•      17^th – 32^nd place – YCS Top Cut Game Mat and an invite to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier
