wartortle32 Thursday - Fairy's Hand Mirror

Today's COTD is Fairy's Hand Mirror. It lets you switch the target of a magic card to another legal target.

When I first got this card in Japanese, I thought this card was great and ran at least 2 in my decks. Now that I think about it, this card is not all that useful. First off, it will only reflect targeted effects, so you cant switch the opponent's raigeki to their own monsters. It also wont work for monster reborn as it can only effect monsters on the field.

So what exactly can this reflect? Basically any equip magic cards and a few other magic cards like change of heart or tribute to the doomed. If you know your opponent relies on a lot of equip magic cards, then this is definitely the card for you. But this card is really situational. Most of the time, you wont find a time to use this card and it will just take up space.

I give this card a 2.6/5. You should definitely keep at least one in your side deck, but dont run more than 2 in your deck at any time.

Yonex Fairy's Hand Mirror -- Thursday

Introduction: Oh look you just Change of Heart your own monster, hahah!

Normal Trap

Whenever one of your opponent's Magic cards targets one of your monsters, you may make the target another monster of your choice.

Why should you use it?

*Counters off many magics
*The 4th counter?

Why shouldn't you use it?

*It does't stop non-targeting

Reasons: Today's card of the day is Fairy's Hand Mirror. This card has a lot  of potential. First off this card can counter off all those favorite magics, Change of Heart, Tribute to the Doomed, and any Equipment Cards. For this reason, could this be your 4th counter to be as a staple? Well possibly not.

It doesn't stop every magic, it just stops the targeting ones, and the one that effects you. So they can Raigeki, Dark Hole, and Monster effect you.

Other than that, this card really doesn't have a negative points.

Rating: This card could be a sweet card. I did have to play against this card before (5 People Free-For-All By The Way). It's madness. Well even in regular play, this card might see some action. For this reason I would give it a 3.0. This card really doesn't have a negative point.

Conclusion: I see this card as an interesting staple card. Maybe 1 or 2, but  not 3. So this could be a new favorite card. Also if rulings are right, you can flip more of these over and keep redirecting the ATK's wouldn't that be fun :-).

Fairy's Hand Mirror
Type: Trap
Effect: Change the target of a Magic card that your
opponent
plays that targets 1 monster to another legal target

Ouch. Play this after they use a tribute to the doomed and they have a monster on the field while you only have 1 out. That is just wrong. This also can counter change of heart if you have 2 monsters on the field. Since they'll have to CoH the face up monster rather than the face down one. But id rather just use magic jammer personally. This card is playable but not a staple card or anything. If you wanna play something new try this out for fun.

Fairy's Hand Mirror

I've been going back and forth when it comes to this card and still not sure about it. Currently it's sitting in my side deck waiting for a player with a lot of Magic Equip cards, Tributes to the Doomed and so on.

If the players in your local area are using cards like Block Attacks or Stop Defense this card can be a life saver but then again if they're using those silly cards you should have no trouble beating the.... errr.. I mean, you shouldn't have any trouble defeating them. >;~)

This card is good fun.  It's definitely a decent card.  If can keep creatures from being hit with tournament spells that everyone plays, like Fissure.  It can also swing the tide of battle if you get to force your opponent to get rid of his own monster.

A two for one trade is always good.  The only problem is that with a small deck, there may not be room for this card.

Rating: 2.9
