Friday -- Patrol Robo

Introduction: Woah I get to peek at one of your cards.

Why should you use it?
*It's like cheating :-), but it's fair.
*Know what your walking into.
*Could save you from wasting a good card to kill a bad card, aka , bluffing.

Why shouldn't you use it?
*You only get to look at one.
*If it dies, your out of luck.
*Waste of space.

Reasons: Your cheating because you get to see what your opponent is planning for you, so you know what to expect, and sometimes, even figure out how to counter it, could get you the win.  It only requires some common sense to realize what the card is. The problem is you only look at one card, which isn't good at all, but you get to use it as long as it stays alive. There is a better card than this, it's called The Stern Mystic, which lets you look at all your opponents face down cards, so you have a more indept of what their planning. Even though you have to flip your cards over, it probably won't matter, because when playing it, you should be going for the win. If you play that opening move, likely its going to die unless you back it up (Trap Hole, Waboku). If they kill it, your out of luck, worst off, it has to be face up and be during your standy phase, if it gets destroyed before that, your of luck, which leads me to the waste of space. This is why it's a waste of space. I rather run The Stern Mystic, because I get to see all the cards, not just 1.

Rating: This card isn't great, but could be an interesting card, I would give it a 1.5 and maybe in the near future I would change it because it would always be good to know your opponent is scheming, especially with all the destruction cards in the future.

Conclusion: A card that might help you, but is really pointless, if you want to use this card, go with The Stern Mystic, it's much better and easier to get.

Friday - Patrol Robo

Today's COTD is Patrol Robo.  It's effect is:

"If this card is face up, during your Standby Phase,
you may look at 1 of your opponent's set cards on the
field."

Now at first you're thinking that this card is great
and now I can see what the opponent is planning.  BTW,
it says set cards, so you can look at face down traps
in addition to monsters.  Well, if you look closely,
you'll see that this card is next to useless.

First of all, it says you can only activate the effect
during your standby phase if it is face up.  Since
your standby phase is before your main phase 1, you
wont be able to use the effect on the turn you summon
it.

Now let's say you do summon it to the field.  With a
weak attack of 1100, there's really no chance he'll be
able to sustain any attack and will be dead before you
have a chance to use the effect on your next turn.
But let's say you use waboku or something to protect
the patrol robo.  The opponent will still be able to
use magic cards to take out the robo and since he has
an attack of 1100, he's highly susceptible to fissure,
in addition to the normal monster removal cards.

I give this card a 1/5.  It simply wont last long
enough to be of any use.  You're much better off
putting in a strong defense monster or something with
a good flip effect.

TripleX Friday (fun pick special):
TP1-004 Patrol Robo
EARTH/Machine
Type: Effect Monster
Level 3
1100/900
If this card is face-up, during your Standby Phase, you may look at 1 of your opponent's Set cards on the field.

*Pros
- good opening card to see what your oppent plays
- effect works more than once

*Cons
- attack is very low
- won't be used in most archytype decks

Hmm This card is very interesting, and will probably see play with the new set magic ruler coming out. Think about it during your standyby phase your allowed to look at one of your opponents set cards. EX: Say you looked at a set monster which was a Man Eater-Bug during your next turn you wanted to set a MOF to get your raigeki back. Since you know its a Man-Eater Bug now instead of setting your MOF(and waisting a good card) why not attack with a monster and kill the Man-Eater Bug to get your next turn ready for MOF. Thats just my opinion o_0.
Till next time Guys and Gals take it easy.

Rating: This card would be fun to test in decks and see what its missing. Well I would give this card a 2/5 which 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest.

Tournament play: I would picture this card being used in tournament play with the new set magic ruler coming out. Hey it can be an underrated card like Big Eye. I would give this card a 3/5

Dude... who picked this card?? *looks at nickwhiz* =/ Anyway long time no see to all. Sorry ive been bad and havent been doing COTDs for yugioh :D Anyway im back to review this fun special pick or whatever.. Anyway this card is just..... how to put this.. Id rather play equipment magic than play this how does that sound? its gotta be face up so if you dont combo him with waboku that effect will never happen. And if the effect does happen, so what? you dont get nothing more than knowing your doom. Ive seen this card and i think its a super rare. So just sell it on ebay or collect 1 for your tournament promo set.. Cause this card sucks and wont get any tournament wins for you.

Rating 1.0 (cant i make it a 0? -.-)
